Travel Occupational Therapist Job
Trenton, NJ
Contracted
Capital Health Regional Medical Center
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as an Occupational Therapist in New Jersey, Trenton, where your clinical expertise becomes a catalyst for independence, functional gains, and renewed confidence across the lifespan. In this role, you’ll blend evidence-based practice with compassionate, client-centered creativity to design meaningful interventions that empower patients to return to daily activities, work, school, and leisure. Each evaluation, treatment plan, and progress note is a stepping stone toward brighter outcomes, and you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team that honors curiosity, shared learning, and professional growth. Beyond the immediate clinical impact, you’ll be part of a state whose vibrancy, heritage, and landscapes inspire balance and well-being after purposeful work.
New Jersey’s natural and cultural beauty are part of your experience too—cape-like beaches along the Jersey Shore, the serene trails of the Watchung Reservation, the historic campuses and river towns that dot the landscape, and the easy access to exciting urban adventures. Specifically in Trenton, you’ll enjoy a capital-city atmosphere with rich history, diverse communities, and convenient access to major metropolitan hubs, while still feeling the warmth of a supportive, close-knit clinical team. The role also presents the opportunity to work in various locations across the U.S., offering you the advantages and experiences unique to each area—from bustling metro centers with complex caseloads to coastal and rural communities with distinct practice patterns. This broad exposure will strengthen your OT toolbox, deepen your cultural competence, and broaden your professional perspective.
Role specifics and benefits:
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll assess patients’ functional abilities and cognitive, sensory, and motor performance to develop individualized, goal-driven treatment plans. You’ll implement evidence-based therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment and splinting as needed, and select modalities that promote engagement and functional independence. Your responsibilities include documentation in alignment with regulatory standards, interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, and social work, and ongoing progress monitoring to adjust interventions. You’ll lead education for patients, families, and caregivers to support safe home management and community participation, while actively contributing to discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions to home, outpatient services, or community programs. The role offers opportunities to deepen expertise across settings—acute care, inpatient rehab, outpatient, or specialty programs—through mentorship, case conferences, and professional development.
This assignment includes a competitive benefits package designed to acknowledge expertise and support long-term commitment. You’ll receive a bonus and housing assistance, with the potential for contract extensions based on performance and service need. A guaranteed 40 hours per week ensures stability and predictable planning, and you’ll have access to additional opportunities for continued collaboration with extended teams as you grow in your practice. The position supports comprehensive, 24/7 assistance from a dedicated travel team—so you have reliable help on the road, whenever and wherever you practice. With a weekly pay range of $2,300–$2,502, you’ll experience competitive compensation that aligns with workload and outcomes, alongside optional stipends or supplements when applicable through the assignment.
