Rochester, NY
Contracted
URMC Strong Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg in Rochester, New York, where every shift is a chance to touch lives and strengthen the health of communities. This travel assignment invites you to bring your clinical excellence to a fast-paced Med Surg environment, where skilled bedside care, critical thinking, and compassionate communication come together to support patients through recovery. As you dial into this role, you’ll also discover the beauty of upstate New York, from the shimmering waters of nearby lakes to parks and cultural treasures that make this region a wonderful place to live and work. Picture weekends exploring scenic trails, museums, and vibrant neighborhoods, all while continuing to grow as a clinician who makes a tangible difference in patient outcomes. The opportunity starts with you, the nurse who translates theory into healing, empathy into action, and evidence into better days for every patient you serve.

Rochester offers a robust healthcare ecosystem, a supportive professional community, and a balanced lifestyle that makes it an ideal place to practice Med Surg nursing. You’ll join a hospital that values teamwork, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered outcomes, delivering comprehensive medical-surgical care with efficiency and compassion. For those who crave variety, our program also enables assignments across the United States, giving you the chance to experience different patient populations, hospital cultures, and specialty challenges—while maintaining the steadfast support structure you expect from a trusted partner. The region’s cultural richness, access to world-class healthcare facilities, and opportunities to engage with academic centers create a dynamic backdrop for professional growth and personal fulfillment.

In this role, key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive Med Surg care: monitoring and interpreting vital signs, administering medications, managing wounds and post-operative needs, coordinating discharge planning, collaborating with physicians and case managers, and educating patients and their families. You’ll contribute to care continuity, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and develop proficiency across units, from telemetry to acute medical-surgical care coordination. The position supports your professional growth with pathways to deepen expertise in acute care nursing, patient safety, care transitions, infection control, and patient education. In addition to competitive pay, the package features a bonus program, housing assistance or stipends, and the flexibility of contract extensions for as long as you want to expand your impact. Packages are designed with your comfort and success in mind, including credentialing support, onboarding to new facilities, and resources to help you settle in quickly. Crucially, you’ll never be on your own on the road; you’ll have 24/7 dedicated support from our travel team, ensuring seamless logistics, safety, and clinical guidance as you navigate new facilities and communities.

Our company values empowerment, not just placement. We’re committed to advancing your career through ongoing education, mentorship, and access to leadership tracks or specialty certifications. We believe in creating a supportive work environment where your voice is heard, your professional goals are respected, and your well-being matters. You’ll find a culture that celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and resilience—where experienced nurses mentor newer teammates, and every success is seen as a shared achievement. With our emphasis on growth, you’ll have opportunities to assume preceptorship roles, lead quality improvement projects, or transition into extended assignments that build continuity for patients and teams alike. Your contribution matters, and we’ve built a framework to recognize and accelerate your development every step of the way.
