Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Lake Isabella, CA
Contracted
Kern Valley Healthcare District - Medefis
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Traveling Registered Nurse in Emergency Department in Lake Isabella, California, where your expertise will illuminate critical moments and restore hope when every second counts. This is your chance to impact patients, families, and communities with skill, compassion, and decisive care. Start on 03/02/2026 for a flexible duration of several weeks, stepping into a role that blends the intensity of a busy ED with the support of a mission-driven team. You’ll enjoy guaranteed hours of 36 per week and a competitive weekly pay range of $1,568–$1,648, with a clear path to extension as needs arise. Beyond compensation, you’ll find purpose in delivering high-stakes care while exploring one of California’s most scenic regions.
California offers more than just a dynamic clinical setting; it presents a living tapestry of natural beauty and outdoor possibility. In Lake Isabella, you’ll be embraced by striking lake views, the surrounding Sierra Nevada foothills, and easy access to hiking, fishing, boating, and serene landscapes that refresh as you recharge between shifts. The state itself invites exploration—from historic coastal towns to alpine retreats—making every assignment a chance to experience new environments, patient populations, and hospital cultures. As a traveling professional, you’ll also have opportunities to work in diverse facilities across the U.S., gaining exposure to different ED workflows, patient mixes, and clinical challenges that accelerate your professional growth while expanding your professional network.
In this ER RN role, you’ll lead with clinical excellence in fast-paced, high-acuity situations. Core responsibilities include triage assessments, rapid patient stabilization, administration of medications and therapies per evidence-based protocols, IV access, and continuous monitoring of vitals and telemetry. You’ll collaborate closely with ED physicians, charge nurses, techs, and ancillary teams to coordinate throughput, accurate documentation, and timely discharges or admissions. You’ll participate in disaster response and rapid-response activations as needed, ensuring patient safety while maintaining exemplary infection control and patient advocacy. The position also provides a powerful avenue for professional development: opportunities to refine skills in airway management, vascular access, point-of-care testing, and critical care nursing while pursuing additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, ENLS, or other specialty credentials. A central benefit is the chance to broaden your expertise across diverse patient populations—from trauma and cardiac cases to pediatrics—strengthening your leadership potential within the ED.
When it comes to benefits, we recognize the value you bring and strive to support your financial and personal well-being. In addition to competitive weekly pay, you’ll receive a bonus, housing assistance to ease transition and lodging needs, and the option to extend your assignment to sustain continuity of care for patients and teams you’ve already come to know. You’ll be part of a program that provides comprehensive, 24/7 support while you travel, ensuring you have a reliable point of contact for clinical guidance, logistical planning, and any unexpected challenges that arise on the road. This structure is designed to reduce stress, maximize clinical time at the bedside, and empower you to deliver the highest standard of care with confidence.
Our company is built on core values that place your career around growth, dignity, and empowerment. We’re committed to creating a work environment that champions career advancement, mentorship, and a culture of collaboration where your voice matters. You’ll benefit from continuous learning opportunities, access to education stipends, and a network of experienced peers who share best practices and support. Our goal is to help you thrive—not only in the ED but in your broader professional trajectory—while maintaining a supportive, respectful, and safe workplace that recognizes your dedication, resilience, and impact on patient outcomes.
