Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Sweetwater, TX
Contracted
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a dynamic journey as a traveling Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery in Sweetwater, Texas, where your expertise helps families welcome new life with confidence and care. In this role you’ll blend clinical excellence with compassionate support, guiding moms through labor, delivery, and recovery in a high-stakes, rewarding setting. Imagine the gratitude in a mother's smile after a safe delivery, knowing you played a pivotal part in that moment. Beyond hospital walls, Texas reveals its own beauty—from West Texas plains at sunset to the rolling hills of the Hill Country, from Palo Duro Canyon to lively small towns. Sweetwater offers Texan hospitality, a close-knit healthcare community, and easy weekend access to larger cities for exploration. This assignment starts 02/03/2026, for a duration of weeks, with guaranteed 36.0 hours per week.

Location Benefits: This assignment situates you in Sweetwater, a welcoming West Texas hub with modern facilities, comprehensive patient support services, and collaborative teams that value your input. You’ll work alongside experienced obstetrics teams, with opportunities to master fetal monitoring, high-risk pregnancy care, and postpartum support. For professionals who crave variety, the program also provides the flexibility to work across multiple locations in the U.S., broadening your clinical exposure and expanding your professional network. The combination of a stable base in Sweetwater and occasional mobility to other communities means you can enjoy a stable home base while exploring diverse patient populations, hospital cultures, and care models—from rural maternity units to metropolitan centers—enhancing your resume and your confidence.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As a Labor and Delivery RN, you’ll coordinate and provide expert nursing care for laboring women, assist with deliveries, monitor fetal well-being, manage pain and anesthesia coordination, support immediate postpartum care, and deliver newborn stabilization and transition to the nursery as needed. You’ll perform continuous fetal heart monitoring, administer medications per physician orders, assist with procedures, and educate families on postpartum care, lactation, and newborn care. You’ll play a critical role in triage, discharge planning, and ensuring infection control and patient safety at every step. This role offers meaningful professional growth within the L&D specialty, including exposure to high-acuity obstetric cases and opportunities to take on lead nurse duties, precept new staff and travelers, and pursue additional certifications. You’ll benefit from competitive compensation, with a weekly pay range of $1,981-$2,146, plus bonuses for performance and milestones. Housing assistance helps you land comfortably from day one, and extension opportunities give you the chance to deepen your impact with ongoing placements. A robust support system is in place, including 24/7 assistance from our traveling healthcare team, available to help with housing, onboarding, credentialing, and any on-site needs while you travel. Expect a structured orientation, access to continuing education, and real-time clinical support to keep you confident and compliant in every shift.
