- Role responsibilities and professional growth: As Med Surg RN, you’ll perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vitals, administer medications, manage post‑operative care, wound care, and IV therapies, and coordinate care plans with physicians, therapists, and case managers. You’ll educate patients and families on disease processes, discharge instructions, and self-management, while documenting care accurately in the electronic medical record.
