As a Physical Therapy Assistant in this program, your role centers on translating the plan of care into tangible progress. You’ll work under the guidance of licensed PTs to implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance and proprioception activities, functional mobility tasks, and job-specific rehabilitation plans. You may assist with manual therapy techniques, edema management, and the safe use of modalities, always prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and independence. You’ll document patient responses, adjust activities in collaboration with the supervising physical therapist, and reinforce home exercise programs to maximize outcomes between visits. Your bedside presence will be a constant source of encouragement, education, and empowerment as you help patients reclaim confidence in daily activities—whether recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or returning to demanding occupational duties.
