Embark on a transformative journey as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in PACU in Hermiston, Oregon. This multi-week assignment invites you to shape recovery experiences, partnering with expert anesthesia teams and surgeons to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care at a critical moment in the patient journey. As you guide patients from anesthesia emergence through stable recovery, you’ll refine skills in airway readiness, neuro assessments, pain control strategies, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response planning. The role is designed to grow with you: you’ll gain exposure to a variety of surgical disciplines, develop leadership competencies on the unit, and expand your PACU repertoire in a real-world surgical setting. And beyond your clinical impact, Oregon’s beauty offers a refreshing backdrop: sunlit farmland around Hermiston, the dramatic canyons and river vistas of the Columbia Basin, and easy access to mountain trails, forests, and coastal day trips that showcase the state’s diverse landscapes.

Location benefits: Hermiston’s community charm blends with modern healthcare facilities to create a supportive, manageable assignment pace. You’ll enjoy the satisfaction of a consistent weekly pay while meeting a guaranteed 36 hours per week, with a competitive pay range designed to reward your expertise.

Role specifics and benefits: In PACU you’ll be responsible for monitoring postoperative patients as they emerge from anesthesia, performing regular neuro and respiratory assessments, ensuring airway patency, managing pain and nausea, and coordinating with anesthesia, surgeons, and floor teams to determine readiness for transfer. You’ll document outcomes, communicate changes in status, and participate in safe handoffs to postoperative units. The assignment is structured to encourage professional development: you’ll have access to continuing education, on-the-job mentorship from experienced PACU staff, and potential for extended contracts or role expansion within perioperative services. The compensation package is competitive and transparent: weekly pay in the range of $2,400 to $2,611, with guaranteed hours at 36 per week. In addition, you’ll receive a sign-on bonus where applicable, housing assistance to ease logistics, and the option to extend your contract beyond the initial period. Our travel program provides extensive support, including 24/7 assistance for travel logistics, housing coordination, credentialing help, and a dedicated clinical liaison to address concerns promptly so you can focus on patient care.
