Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Glens Falls, NY
Contracted
Glens Falls Hospital - AHSA
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal ICU nursing role in the heart of upstate New York, where your expertise as a Travel Registered Nurse will directly influence outcomes for critically ill patients while you expand your clinical horizons in a supportive, high-impact setting. As an ICU specialist, you’ll blend rapid assessment with precise intervention, guiding patients from instability toward stabilization alongside a dedicated team. This opportunity is designed for professionals who thrive on complex, high-stakes care and who want to elevate their practice through diverse experiences, continuous learning, and real impact in a community that values skilled caregivers and compassionate leadership.
And when you’re not in the ICU, New York’s beauty awaits. From the serene trails and evergreen vistas of the Adirondack Park to the shimmering shores of Lake George, the state offers outdoor escapes, seasonal culture, and culinary richness that can recharge your spirit after demanding shifts. Glens Falls itself is a welcoming gateway to both relaxation and adventure, with easy access to towns and cities that celebrate history, arts, and a pace that harmonizes with a clinician’s demanding schedule.
Location benefits extend beyond a single hospital floor. Glens Falls provides a close-knit hospital setting with access to advanced ICU capabilities, enabling you to deliver high-quality critical care while enjoying a manageable commute and meaningful community ties. The region offers a balance of professional rigor and lifestyle choice—short commutes, stable teams, and opportunities to engage with local initiatives in patient safety and emergency readiness. For clinicians who love exploring, the program also presents the option to work in various locations across the United States, exposing you to diverse patient populations, hospital protocols, and care models. This breadth of experience can deepen your critical thinking, broaden your clinical toolbox, and bolster your résumé for future leadership roles, academic collaborations, or subspecialty certifications. You’ll gain exposure to urban, suburban, and rural settings within a framework designed to support your professional development and your personal goals.
In this assignment, your role centers on comprehensive ICU responsibilities that call for vigilance, precision, and collaborative problem-solving. You’ll lead or participate in bedside rounds, manage critically ill patients requiring invasive monitoring and ventilatory support, oversee vasoactive drips and advanced pharmacology, titrate therapies based on real-time data, and coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and case managers. You’ll implement evidence-based protocols for sepsis, ARDS, post-operative cardiac and neurocritical care, and multi-system failure, with a focus on patient and family communication, pain and sedation management, and prevention of complications. The position offers robust professional growth—mentorship from seasoned ICU clinicians, exposure to a spectrum of critical presentations, and the chance to refine expertise in hemodynamic monitoring, trending, titration of therapies, and rapid response. In addition, you’ll contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participate in ongoing education, and leverage opportunities for credentialing support or specialty certifications. The package includes competitive compensation with weekly pay ranging from $2,313 to $2,446, recognizing the high level of skill and responsibility you bring. The assignment is structured with guaranteed hours at 24 per week, with start date on 01/08/2026 and an engagement duration measured in weeks, along with extension opportunities to continue your impact beyond the initial term. To further support your success, the program offers housing assistance and the potential for sign-on bonuses, as well as relocation stipends and other relocation logistics designed to make transitions seamless. And because travel life can be demanding, you’ll have 24/7 support from a dedicated travel program team—ready to assist with housing, credentialing, travel logistics, and any clinical or personal needs that arise while you’re on assignment.
The company behind this opportunity is dedicated to empowering its staff, championing career advancement, and fostering a supportive work environment where clinical excellence and personal well-being go hand in hand.
