Travel Pharmacist Job
San Luis Obispo, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health- Sierra Vista
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative travel opportunity as a Pharmacist in California’s picturesque Central Coast. This specialty-focused travel assignment invites you to bring clinical excellence, medication safety leadership, and patient-centered care to communities along the stunning San Luis Obispo coastline. Starting on 03/16/2026, the assignment runs for several weeks with the potential for extension, offering you a dynamic pathway to broaden your clinical horizons while making a measurable impact on patient outcomes. Weekly pay ranges from $2,780 to $2,994, with responsibilities and growth opportunities designed to challenge and reward your expertise. Note that hours are not guaranteed and scheduling is aligned with facility needs, ensuring flexibility within a robust support framework.
Location benefits go beyond your daily duties. San Luis Obispo blends sunlit days and coastal charm with access to beautiful beaches, rugged hills, and vibrant wine country. The region offers outdoor recreation from scenic hikes and seaside strolls to kayaking and winery tours, making every downtime a rejuvenating experience. The Central Coast’s slower pace, coupled with convenient access to larger urban centers, creates a balanced lifestyle that supports both professional focus and personal wellness. For those who relish variety, this travel role also opens avenues to work in additional locations across the United States, expanding your professional network and exposing you to a spectrum of care environments—from community pharmacies to hospital systems—while maintaining a home base in one of America’s most beloved coastal regions.
In this Pharmacist role, you’ll lead essential medication management activities and contribute to safe, evidence-based patient care. Key responsibilities include dispensing prescriptions accurately, verifying dosages and interactions, counseling patients and caregivers, and providing drug information to both clinical teams and patients. You’ll participate in regulatory compliance, pharmacy operations, and formulary management, ensuring adherence to state boards, USP standards, and institutional policies. The role also covers medication reconciliation, therapeutic interchanges, and the handling of sterile compounding where applicable. Collaboration is central: you’ll work shoulder to shoulder with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize therapy, resolve discrepancies, and support transitions of care. As you grow in your specialty, there are clear paths to deeper clinical involvement, leadership opportunities, and potential precepting roles that recognize and reward your expertise. The engagement also supports professional development through targeted clinical experiences, mentorship, and opportunities to expand your scope within the pharmacy practice.
Competitive benefits accompany your clinical impact. In addition to the included weekly compensation, you may be eligible for a performance bonus recognizing quality outcomes and efficient operations. Housing assistance is provided to ease relocation and temporary lodging, reducing the typical travel stress and helping you acclimate quickly to new environments. The arrangement also supports contract extensions, giving you the chance to continue your seasoned contributions beyond the initial term if you choose. The program prides itself on comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance for travelers, access to credentialing and licensing resources, and a dedicated operations team that coordinates scheduling, onboarding, and problem-solving. You’ll have robust clinical and administrative support to navigate every facet of travel practice, from campus to community pharmacy settings and beyond.
Company values center on empowering staff, accelerating career development, and fostering a supportive work culture. The organization is committed to helping pharmacists advance their clinical acumen, leadership capabilities, and professional resilience. Expect mentorship, continuing education opportunities, and a collaborative environment where your clinical judgment is respected and your well-being matters. The mission is to cultivate a community of pharmacy professionals who feel valued, prepared, and inspired to deliver exceptional care while pursuing meaningful career growth.
