Travel Respiratory Therapist Registered Respiratory Therapist Job

Arcata, CA
Contracted
Mad River Community Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, delivering specialized care with steady leadership to patients on a multi-week assignment. In this role you’ll translate clinical knowledge into compassionate, evidence-based treatment—ventilator support, oxygen optimization, and airway clearance performed with precision and empathy. This is more than a job: it’s a path to deepen your expertise within the respiratory therapy specialty while contributing to better outcomes across diverse hospital teams. In California’s Arcata, you’ll find a welcoming community that blends professional growth with work‑life balance. Beyond the hospital, California’s coast and redwood forests offer inspiration—a backdrop that renews focus after demanding shifts and reinforces the purpose behind every breath you help preserve.

Location Benefits: Arcata presents a distinctive practice environment with a supportive medical community that values patient‑centered care. You’ll have access to solid clinical resources, a collegial team, and the security of a guaranteed schedule. The assignment also opens doors to working in various locations across the United States, exposing you to different hospital settings, patient populations, and care models. This flexibility broadens your professional horizon, sharpens your therapeutic approach, and builds a versatile portfolio of experiences. Arcata sits near Humboldt Bay and the Redwood Coast, where outdoor recreation and a high quality of life complement your clinical ambitions.

Role Specifics and Benefits: You’ll be responsible for comprehensive respiratory care under physicians and the respiratory care team. Duties include assessing patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, delivering modalities such as high-flow therapy (including HFNC) and conventional treatments, initiating and adjusting ventilator settings, performing ABG collection and interpretation, and monitoring response with precise documentation. You’ll participate in rounds, communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to care plans that optimize outcomes. You’ll educate patients and families, ensuring understanding of treatments, devices, and discharge instructions. The role offers professional growth within critical care, neonatal, and pediatric cases, plus exposure to complex weaning scenarios. We emphasize a collaborative environment where you’re encouraged to share ideas, review protocols, and contribute to quality improvement. Our package includes a competitive wage, a sign-on or performance incentive, and housing support to ease transitions. You’ll also have extension opportunities to pursue longer engagements based on availability and performance. A defining feature of our program is 24/7 support for travelers: a dedicated team ready to assist with scheduling, logistics, credentialing, and clinical questions at any hour so you can stay focused on excellent care. You’ll work with seasoned clinicians, mentors, and operations partners who understand travel rhythms and the importance of continuity of care.

Company Values: We empower staff with targeted learning, mentorship, and clear paths that recognize achievement and broaden scope of practice. We foster a supportive environment built on respect, integrity, and collaboration.
