As you advance your career, you’ll see how your expertise translates into faster, more accurate diagnoses and improved treatment planning. And beyond the hospital walls, you’ll experience the beauty of Kansas—from the rolling Flint Hills and expansive prairies to the vibrant arts and dining scenes in Kansas City and welcoming small towns across the Sunflower State.
Location benefits extend beyond the campus doors. KU Medical Center sits in a dynamic hub where academic innovation meets patient-centered care, offering rich collaboration with physicians, researchers, and technologists who push the boundaries of imaging. For a traveler, this role opens doors to work across locations in the U.S., expanding your clinical repertoire, exposure to a wide range of MRI systems (from 1.5T to 3T platforms), and opportunities to refine protocols that elevate image quality while maintaining patient safety and comfort. You’ll gain the resilience and adaptability that come from rotating through diverse patient populations, imaging protocols, and workflow environments, all while building a network that supports your long-term career goals. The state of Kansas itself provides a compelling backdrop: culture, outdoor adventure, and a welcoming community ethos that makes it easy to settle in during short-term assignments. - Ensure patient safety and comfort, screen for contraindications, administer and monitor contrast agents per protocol, and promptly recognize and respond to adverse reactions.
- Maintain rigorous image quality through meticulous technique, artifact reduction, and systematic quality control checks, while documenting procedures and outcomes for radiologists’ review.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other technologists to coordinate scheduling, streamline throughput, and support seamless patient care from check-in to discharge.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities, cross-training on advanced imaging techniques, and quality improvement initiatives that keep you at the forefront of radiology practice.
- Embrace the chance to extend contracts, explore additional assignments, and pursue specialty certifications with vendor reimbursements and educational stipends.
The compensation package is designed to be competitive and rewarding. You’ll earn a weekly pay range of $2,610 to $2,748, reflecting the value you bring to high-stakes imaging. A signing bonus, robust housing assistance, and extension opportunities are part of the mix to support a smooth transition and sustainable assignments. We also provide comprehensive travel stipends and per diem where applicable, ensuring your logistics are well managed so you can focus on delivering exceptional imaging. Importantly, this program emphasizes stability and flexibility with contract term options that align with your preferences, including the ability to extend beyond initial weeks if both you and the site agree. And throughout your travel, you’ll have the confidence that 24/7 support is available to assist you with any on-site or off-site needs.
