- Deliver direct patient care on the medical-surgical unit, including rapid assessment, stable monitoring, and timely intervention for a diverse caseload.
- Administer medications and IV therapies, perform wound care, manage drains and catheters, and support post-operative recovery with careful observation and documentation.
- Conduct thorough rounds, identify evolving care needs, and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and case managers.
- Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatments, medications, self-care strategies, and discharge instructions to optimize outcomes post-visit and post-discharge.
- Participate in handoffs, charting, and compliance with hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient safety initiatives.
- Support infection control practices, specimen collection, and coordination with ancillary services to streamline patient flow.
