In this role you’ll blend evidence-based care with real human connection, orchestrating complex plans for adult patients while guiding families through the journey of healing. You’ll thrive in a setting that values precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement, turning every shift into a chance to refine skills, advocate for patients, and contribute to a high-performing team that delivers outstanding outcomes. Missouri’s landscapes offer a refreshing backdrop to this meaningful work, inviting exploration beyond the hospital walls. From the rolling hills and scenic byways to lake-dotted weekends and lush forest trails, the Show-Me State invites renewed energy and curiosity. Columbia itself blends a vibrant, college-town tempo with approachable amenities, cultural events, parks, and a supportive community that makes balancing career and life rewarding.

Columbia’s location offers a compelling mix of professional opportunities and lifestyle benefits. The city fosters strong hospital networks, academic partnerships, and access to cutting-edge resources, creating an environment where med-surg nurses can grow alongside seasoned colleagues. For those drawn to broader experiences, there’s the possibility of placement across various locations in the United States, expanding clinical exposure and building a versatile resume. The combination of a stable home base with optional cross-site assignments empowers you to broaden your practice, refine specialty standards, and develop leadership competencies while enjoying Missouri’s welcoming communities, affordable living, and strong family-friendly amenities.

As a Med Surg RN in this program, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor progress, and implement individualized care plans for medical-surgical populations, including post-operative, infectious disease, and chronic condition cases. You’ll administer medications, manage IV therapies, and respond rapidly to changes in patient status, coordinating with physicians, case managers, and ancillary teams to optimize outcomes. You’ll lead discharge planning discussions, educate patients and families on self-care strategies, and document meticulously to ensure continuity of care. This role offers robust professional growth opportunities within the Med Surg specialty—from enhanced telemetry and pain management skills to leadership duties on the unit. A pathway toward specialty certification, mentorship roles, and potential advancement is supported by the organization, along with structured clinical education that aligns with current best practices. The compensation package includes a competitive rate with a weekly pay range of $2,061-$2,199 and Guaranteed Hours of 36 each week, reflecting the commitment to fair, transparent reimbursement for your expertise.

Key responsibilities are complemented by a strong benefits philosophy. In addition to the core duties, you’ll have access to sign-on bonuses, housing assistance to ease transition, and extension opportunities that let you maintain continuity of care for patients and teams you come to know. The program emphasizes comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, ensuring you’re never navigating clinical or logistical challenges alone. You’ll receive on-demand clinical support, travel coordination, and a dedicated operations team ready to respond to urgent needs, so you can focus on delivering high-quality patient care. Professional development is a central pillar: you’ll be encouraged to pursue ongoing education, cross-training across units when available, and opportunities to take on additional responsibilities that align with your career goals. The role supports you in balancing patient advocacy with personal well-being, recognizing that sustained excellence comes from a healthy and engaged nurse.

Our organization is built on a foundation of empowering staff and fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and growth. We invest in your career by providing mentorship, leadership development options, and a clear pathway to expand your scope of practice within the Med Surg family.
