In the NICU, your expertise, compassion, and steady hands become a beacon of hope, guiding newborns through critical moments toward brighter outcomes. You’ll partner with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and compassionate support teams to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care that honors both the fragility and resilience of our tiniest patients. If you’re driven by precision, collaboration, and the opportunity to strengthen your NICU practice, this assignment invites you to grow while making a meaningful difference. Pennsylvania’s rich heritage and dynamic landscapes set the stage for a balanced professional life—where cutting-edge urban healthcare meets the serenity of nature. From the city’s iconic architecture and cultural treasures to accessible parks and scenic escapes, the Keystone State offers a spectrum of experiences that nourish both your professional and personal wellbeing. In Philadelphia, you’ll be at the epicenter of top-tier pediatric care, with access to academic partnerships, research initiatives, and diverse patient populations. And for weekends or longer getaways, the state’s countryside and nearby mountains offer refreshing vistas and new adventures that recharge your energy for the next shift.
Location Benefits:

Imagine working in a city renowned for its medical institutions, teaching hospitals, and robust support networks—where ongoing education isn’t just encouraged, it’s embedded in daily practice. The location also presents you with the opportunity to rotate through affiliated facilities across Pennsylvania and select sites nationwide, expanding your clinical exposure while keeping you connected to a broad professional community. Beyond the hospital walls, Philadelphia blends historic charm with modern amenities, a thriving culinary scene, arts, music, and sports—creating a stimulating backdrop that complements the demanding rhythm of NICU care. Pennsylvania’s natural beauty is never far away: the Pocono Mountains for a weekend escape, the calming shores of the Atlantic coast, and state parks offering trails and serenity after demanding shifts. For travel professionals, this assignment also signals your access to program-wide resources, regional symposiums, and a network of peers who share a commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate patient-family support.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
As a NICU RN on this weeks-long assignment starting 03/16/2026, you’ll deliver comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care to premature and ill newborns. Your responsibilities will include meticulous assessment and monitoring of vital signs, respiratory support management (including ventilators and CPAP), TN and lipid/IV therapies, phototherapy, incubator/warming device oversight, enteral and parental feeding support, central line care, med administration, and rigorous infection control. You’ll coordinate with the neonatology team on care plans, participate in rounds, document clearly and timely, and ensure seamless transitions with families through education and discharge planning. You’ll mentor newer staff, collaborate on quality improvement initiatives, and champion evidence-based practice to uphold the highest standards of neonatal outcomes. Growth opportunities abound: you’ll have access to targeted training in advanced NICU procedures, participate in case reviews, and gain exposure to high-acuity cases across depth and breadth of neonatal care. The role offers competitive compensation with a weekly pay range of $2,100 to $2,220, reflecting the specialty’s expertise and the demand for skilled NICU nurses. You’ll work 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours, offering predictability in scheduling and the security of consistent income throughout the assignment. The program also includes a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease transitions, plus options for contract extensions that let you continue making impact with the same or expanded responsibilities. You’ll be supported 24/7 by a dedicated travel team and clinical supervisors who understand the unique needs of traveling NICU nurses, ensuring you never navigate a clinical challenge alone. The combination of hands-on clinical variety, structured professional growth, and a supportive ecosystem makes this assignment a compelling path for those who want to elevate NICU practice while maintaining work-life vitality.
