Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Arcata, CA
Contracted
Mad River Community Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a high-impact journey as an ER Registered Nurse in Arcata, California, where your clinical precision and compassionate care will be the difference between crisis and calm. In the fast-paced, life-saving environment of the emergency department, you will lead rapid assessments, initiations of critical interventions, and coordinated care transitions that empower patients to regain their strength and hope. Your expertise in trauma response, triage prioritization, airway management, IV therapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration will shape outcomes in moments that matter most. Imagine applying your specialty in a setting that honors your autonomy, sharpens your decision-making, and elevates your professional voice in a community that values your contribution. And beyond the role, California’s diverse landscapes invite you to explore coastal beauty, towering redwoods, and vibrant towns—areas where fresh air, outdoor adventures, and cultural richness enhance the fabric of your everyday life.
Arcata offers a distinctive blend of warmth, small-town charm, and access to extraordinary natural beauty. Nestled near the Redwood Empire, the area offers breathtaking drives along the Pacific coastline, easy trails through ancient forests, and opportunities to unwind at the harbor, farmers markets, and creekside parks after demanding shifts. This location supports a healthy work-life balance while you stay connected to a community that knows your name and appreciates your expertise. For nurses who crave variety, the position also carries the possibility of travel to other locations across the United States through our program, delivering a modern, flexible nursing career that broadens your clinical horizon while maintaining strong ties to your home base in Arcata. You’ll gain exposure to different patient populations, hospital cultures, and processes—fortifying your ER skill set and expanding your professional network with each assignment.
In this ER RN role, your responsibilities will center on delivering rapid, evidence-based care for a broad spectrum of urgent conditions. You’ll perform comprehensive patient assessments, initiate stabilization protocols, administer medications, and implement life-saving interventions in coordination with physicians, physicians’ assistants, and ancillary teams. You’ll monitor vital signs, interpret EKGs, start IV access, assist with procedures, and facilitate admissions, transfers, or discharges with clear communication to patients and families. Your leadership will shine as you mentor less experienced teammates, advocate for patient safety, and contribute to unit efficiency through process improvements. The position supports ongoing professional growth through exposure to diverse cases, opportunities for cross-training in trauma, pediatrics, or critical care pathways, and potential progression into leadership tracks as you demonstrate reliability, expertise, and compassionate patient advocacy. You’ll find a strong, supportive environment that values your input and provides structure for continued learning and advancement.
Our compensation package reflects the value you bring. The weekly pay ranges from $2,179 to $2,258, with guaranteed hours of 36.0 per week, offering stability in a field where predictability matters. The assignment begins on December 24, 2025, with a duration described as weeks and designed for extension opportunities, so you can plan for both immediate impact and long-term growth. In addition to competitive pay, you’ll have access to housing assistance to ease transition and relocation logistics, helping you settle into Arcata or new locations with less friction. A competitive bonus program recognizes your contributions and milestones, underscoring our commitment to rewarding exceptional performance and dedication. When you travel with us, you’ll receive round-the-clock support—our team is available 24/7 to answer questions, troubleshoot travel logistics, and ensure your safety and comfort as you move between assignments and locations.
