Imagine stepping into a high-stakes ICU in Utica, New York, where your clinical expertise stabilizes critically ill patients, guides families, and directly improves outcomes. As a Registered Nurse in critical care, you’ll work with a skilled team using advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and hemodynamic management to deliver compassionate care around the clock. Outside the hospital, New York reveals natural beauty—from the Mohawk Valley to the Finger Lakes and the Adirondacks—perfect for weekend exploration.
Utica combines a historic core with modern amenities, a thriving dining and arts scene, and easy access to nature. Working here means a manageable commute, time for family and hobbies, and a close-knit medical community that values teamwork and patient-centered care. The assignment can also open doors to placements across the U.S., letting you experience diverse settings—from urban centers to rural ICUs—while keeping consistent pay, benefits, and robust support. Housing assistance eases the relocation, and the weekly rate is competitive, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. There are clear extension opportunities if you wish to continue with our program.
As an ICU RN on this travel assignment, you’ll care for patients requiring meticulous monitoring, complex therapies, and rapid decisions. Key duties include airway management and ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive medication titration, infection control, sedation assessment, and collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and fellow nurses to implement individualized care plans. You’ll participate in rounds, document accurately, and educate families to support informed decisions. The role offers pathways for growth within critical care: exposure to evolving protocols, mentorship, opportunities to pursue specialty certifications, and involvement in quality improvement projects. Our support is comprehensive: 24/7 assistance from the travel team, credentialing help, onboarding support, and resources that let you focus on patient care while logistics are handled. Compensation includes a weekly pay range of $2,150-$2,258, guaranteed 36 hours per week, and housing support, with potential sign-on bonuses and extension opportunities if you stay longer.
