Powerback - Contract - Bellaken Garden -R05A87
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Travel Physical Therapist in California, Oakland, where your clinical expertise meets a vibrant community and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. In this role, your hands-on skill and compassionate approach will empower individuals to regain independence, restore mobility, and reclaim daily activities that matter most to them. As you travel through diverse settings, you’ll encounter a broad spectrum of diagnoses and ages, delivering holistic therapy that blends evidence-based practice with personalized attention. Your impact will extend beyond the therapy room, helping families navigate recovery, celebrate small victories, and build confidence for the next chapter of their lives. Separately, you can savor California’s unparalleled beauty—golden coastlines, towering redwoods, wine country vistas, serene lake views, and alpine escapes—offering inspiration and renewed energy after meaningful clinical days.

Oakland positions you at the heart of a dynamic Bay Area healthcare ecosystem, where collaboration with leading clinicians, access to diverse facilities, and a culture of innovation elevate your practice. You’ll work within a robust network of hospitals, outpatient centers, and community clinics that celebrate multicultural perspectives and patient-centered outcomes. The location provides convenient access to world-class cuisine, arts, and outdoor recreation, along with easy connections to San Francisco, Berkeley, and the broader region. For clinicians who crave variety, this program also presents opportunities to work in additional locations across the U.S., exposing you to different care settings, patient populations, and clinical challenges while maintaining the stability of a supportive travel assignment. In Oakland, you’ll experience a patient population rich in diversity and social determinants of health that deepen your clinical insight and strengthen your communication and teamwork skills. The combination of urban vibrancy and proximity to scenic escapes makes this a uniquely rewarding place to practice and grow.

Role specifics and benefits are designed to support your excellence as a Physical Therapist. Core responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment and re-assessment to establish and adjust individualized treatment plans; designing, implementing, and supervising therapeutic interventions that address mobility, balance, strength, gait, endurance, and functional adequacy for daily living. You’ll perform manual therapy, therapeutic exercise progression, neuromuscular re-education, and modality utilization as appropriate, while monitoring patient response and adjusting goals to reflect progress. Documentation in electronic medical records will be meticulous and timely, with clear communication to physicians, nurses, case managers, and family members. You’ll participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to outcome measurement and data-driven improvements, and advocate for patient access and engagement. The role offers a clear path for professional growth within the Physical Therapy specialty, including opportunities to pursue advanced tracks in orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, or geriatrics, as well as mentorship of fellow clinicians and collaboration on quality improvement initiatives.

Beyond clinical duties, you’ll enjoy competitive benefits designed to recognize your expertise and support your lifestyle. The position provides a weekly pay range of $2,440 to $2,511, with guaranteed 35 hours per week, and a clear start date of 02/02/2026 for a contract spanning Weeks (exact length to be confirmed during onboarding). A sign-on or performance bonus is available, along with comprehensive housing assistance to ease relocation or temporary housing needs during your assignment. There are extension opportunities to continue your contract beyond the initial period, allowing you to deepen your impact and build sustained relationships with patients and teams. We also offer robust travel support, including a 24/7 help line and dedicated coordinators who assist with orientation, scheduling, and on-the-ground needs, ensuring you never travel alone on this journey. In addition, access to continuing education resources, clinical updates, and opportunities to participate in local professional events helps keep your practice at the cutting edge.

Our company values are built on empowerment, growth, and a genuinely supportive environment. We are committed to fostering career advancement by providing mentorship, structured learning plans, and a culture that welcomes inquiry and collaboration. You’ll find a respectful workplace that prioritizes your well-being, work-life balance, and professional happiness, while delivering high-quality patient care.
