URMC Strong Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Step into the fast-paced, life-changing world of CVOR nursing in Rochester, New York. This assignment is tailored for accomplished Registered Nurses who excel under pressure, collaborate tightly with surgeons, and safeguard patient outcomes from preop through recovery. Beginning March 16, 2026, you’ll be an integral member of cardiovascular teams, handling complex cases, precision instrument management, and vigilant monitoring in the OR. The role combines clinical mastery with ongoing growth: you’ll participate in performance improvement projects, refine techniques, and share best practices with peers who share your commitment to excellence. Beyond the scrub side of things, you’ll have the chance to explore the beauty of New York’s landscapes—from the Finger Lakes to vibrant city life—and you may step into new assignments across the U.S. to broaden your professional horizons.
Rochester offers a robust healthcare ecosystem, top-tier facilities, and a supportive community that values education, culture, and outdoor recreation. You’ll enjoy a balanced lifestyle with parks, museums, dining, and easy access to regional gems like the Finger Lakes wine country, the Erie Canal, and outdoor trails. The assignment also opens doors to working in additional U.S. locations on future contracts, exposing you to varied hospital cultures, patient demographics, and cardiovascular programs. This breadth can sharpen your clinical judgment, expand your professional network, and enhance your CV with diverse experiences while preserving the stability of a dedicated CVOR specialty track. Whether you’re drawn to a bustling urban center or a more intimate hospital environment, you’ll find opportunities to grow while staying rooted in a region known for its resilient medical community and quality of life.
In this CVOR RN role, you’ll support cardiovascular surgeries from planning through postoperative care. Core responsibilities include assisting with case setup, instrument counts, sterile technique, and intraoperative support; monitoring hemodynamics; managing specialized equipment; and coordinating with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and the broader OR team. You’ll contribute to preoperative assessments and postoperative handoffs, participate in safety checks, and uphold high standards for patient outcomes and infection control. The position emphasizes professional development with access to advanced CVOR training, mentorship from experienced nurses, and opportunities to assume leadership roles. The package features a competitive weekly pay range of $2,336-$2,429, with an assignment length of several weeks and potential extensions based on facility needs and performance. Additional benefits include a sign-on bonus where permitted and housing assistance to ease your transition. You’ll also receive extension opportunities to align with your personal goals and a dedicated 24/7 support network for travel, scheduling, and clinical needs.
Our partner company is dedicated to empowering staff, fostering career progression, and maintaining a supportive, collaborative environment.
