This is more than a job; it’s a vocation that blends evidence-based practice with compassionate care, enabling individuals to achieve meaningful goals—from dressing and bathing to returning to work, school, or community activities. As you move through diverse care settings, you’ll see tangible outcomes, celebrate small victories, and grow your mastery of the OT specialty. Start date 01/05/2026, with assignments designed for weeks at a time and the possibility of extensions to deepen your impact. The beautiful environment of Montana is a unique backdrop for your work, offering a frontier spirit paired with modern healthcare, abundant outdoor recreation, and a sense of wide, welcoming community. From the Big Sky skies to the city streets, Montana invites you to bring clinical excellence and a curious, resilient mindset to every client encounter.

Location Benefits: Billings is a thriving hub where urban amenities meet the charm of the American West. You’ll experience a community with robust healthcare resources, active neighborhoods, and access to outdoor experiences just outside the door. As a traveling OT, you may also have opportunities to work in other locations across the U.S., broadening your professional view and enabling you to practice in varied environments—acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and school-based settings. This variety supports continuous learning, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the chance to tailor your practice to each patient’s unique context. The travel model aligns with a balanced lifestyle: steady hours, competitive compensation, and the flexibility to explore Montana’s scenic corridors, local trails, seasonal events, and regional culture between assignments. We recognize the value of housing options near your work site, transportation needs, and the safety net of 24/7 field and administrative support as you travel.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As an Occupational Therapist in this travel role, you’ll assess occupational performance, analyze barriers to independence, and design patient-centered interventions across ADLs, IADLs, motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive strategies, and adaptive equipment needs. You’ll conduct comprehensive evaluations, create dynamic treatment plans, and set clear, measurable goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the broader care team. Common responsibilities include manual therapy, therapeutic activities to improve hand skills and coordination, wheelchair and seating assessments, home safety evaluations, splinting, activity modification, education on energy conservation, and discharge planning that ensures continuity of care. You’ll document progress, adjust plans based on data, and advocate for patients’ participation in meaningful activities, returning them to productive daily routines.

The role emphasizes growth within the OT specialty: opportunities to deepen expertise in pediatrics, geriatrics, neurorehabilitation, or orthopedics; involvement in interdisciplinary rounds; and exposure to diverse clinical populations. The position offers a competitive package that includes a signifiant weekly pay range of $2,264-$2,419, reflecting your skills and experience, with a guaranteed 36.0 hours per week. In addition to base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus, and housing assistance helps ease logistics for travel assignments. Extension opportunities provide a path to longer contracts or recurring placements, allowing you to build lasting relationships with facilities and communities. You’ll receive comprehensive support from our travel program, including 24/7 assistance while you’re on assignments, access to licensure and credentialing support, and streamlined onboarding across sites. We also provide ongoing access to continuing education resources to help you stay current with best practices and to grow in your specialty.
