Begin a meaningful journey as a Hospice Registered Nurse in La Grande, Oregon, where your clinical expertise and compassionate presence help patients and families navigate one of life’s most intimate experiences with dignity and comfort. This weeks-long travel assignment invites seasoned RNs to deliver expert symptom management, emotional support, and education across diverse settings while exploring the beauty of Oregon and the broader U.S. Start date December 29, 2025, with guaranteed 40 hours per week, and a compensation range designed to recognize your skill and reliability: $2,263 to $2,377 per week.
La Grande offers a welcoming small-town atmosphere nestled near the Blue Mountains, with easy access to outdoor adventures on hiking trails, fishing streams, rivers, and scenic drives. You’ll experience the charm of life in a close-knit community while enjoying the option to travel to other locations across the country for extended assignments. The region provides a balanced pace that supports reflective, patient-centered care, and the prospect of returning to Oregon’s natural beauty during time off keeps your mind and heart refreshed. Beyond the immediate assignment, this opportunity can serve as a springboard to broader hospice experiences within a nationwide network that values your clinical judgment and bedside presence.
Role specifics: As a Hospice RN, you will assess symptom burden, manage pain and comfort measures, implement end-of-life care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary care teams, and educate patients and families on disease trajectory, medication safety, and advance directives. You will document care in the electronic health record, participate in care conferences, and advocate for patient preferences, cultural needs, and spiritual concerns. This role offers professional growth within hospice nursing, including opportunities to lead care coordination initiatives, mentor newer staff, and deepen palliative care competencies through our ongoing training programs. Benefits include a competitive weekly pay range, a sign-on or welcome bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities on high-performing assignments. You’ll have access to 24/7 support while traveling with the company, from travel coordinators to clinical supervisors, ensuring you never navigate a shift in isolation. The position supports collaboration with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and therapists to craft holistic care plans that honor each patient’s goals and family dynamics.
Across the U.S., you’ll gain exposure to a variety of clinical environments, from urban centers to rural communities, all while maintaining the high standard of compassion and professional autonomy hospice nurses deserve. Our program emphasizes careful staffing, predictable scheduling, and the flexibility to extend assignments based on your career goals and personal life. You’ll discover enrichment through exposure to diverse cases, complex symptom management, and culturally sensitive care that strengthens your clinical voice and leadership potential. The experience is designed to be restorative as well as challenging, with resources and time built in to reflect, learn, and grow.
Our company is grounded in empowering its staff, investing in ongoing education, and fostering a supportive work environment where your voice matters. We champion professional development, recognize achievements, and support a healthy work‑life balance as you pursue specialty certifications, leadership pathways, and opportunities to contribute to policy and program improvements.
