Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Travel Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse clinical settings, providing essential patient care while gaining valuable experience in various specialties. Duties

  • Provide comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health environments.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations.
  • Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Manage airway support with ventilators and perform advanced procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and specimen collection.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR and EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests, medical imaging (sonography), and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Coordinate discharge planning, patient education, and health coaching tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management for complex cases involving trauma medicine, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while maintaining sterile processing protocols.
  • Adapt to various clinical environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, outpatient clinics, or specialty units like PICU or Neonatal ICU.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Proficiency in advanced nursing skills such as IV insertion/infusion, ventilator management, tube feeding, ostomy care, gastric lavage, spinal tap procedures, and neonatal ventilator management.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and efficiently across diverse populations including pediatrics (including toddler & neonatal care), geriatrics (including dementia & Alzheimer’s care), and patients with disabilities or developmental challenges.
  • Skilled in infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for acute care environments.
  • Experience working in critical care units such as ICU or Level II Trauma Centers; familiarity with trauma medicine and acute pain management is preferred.
  • Capable of working independently in high-pressure situations such as emergency rooms or urgent care centers while maintaining excellent communication skills with patients and team members.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging procedures like sonography; experience with post-acute care settings or home & community care is a plus.
