Introduction: Step into a pivotal Radiology role as a Special Procedures Tech, where your precision and compassion become a cornerstone of complex patient care. In this specialty, your hands help guide transformative interventions, from intricate vascular studies to targeted interventional procedures, all while partnering with skilled radiologists to drive patient outcomes. This is your chance to elevate diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, to mentor peers through evolving techniques, and to leave a measurable imprint on the lives you touch. You are not just performing a procedure—you are enabling quicker recoveries, reducing procedural risks, and supporting families during challenging moments. Separately, you’ll discover California’s remarkable places that invite exploration during downtime: coastal escapes, towering redwoods, the rolling vineyards of nearby regions, and scenic mountain getaways. From the sunlit mornings along the Central Valley to golden hour sunsets over the Sierra, this state offers a backdrop where your professional journey can feel as rewarding as the landscapes you’ll explore.
Location Benefits: Based in Lodi, California, you’ll enjoy a community that blends small-town warmth with access to broader regional opportunities. Lodi’s celebrated wine scene, welcoming neighborhoods, and proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area provide a balanced lifestyle—great dining, outdoor recreation, and cultural events just a short drive away. The area supports a healthy work-life rhythm, with opportunities to rotate to nearby facilities for diverse experience. And if you’re excited by the idea of expanding your horizons, this placement also offers the possibility to work in varied locations across the U.S.—broadening your professional network, exposing you to different patient populations, and enriching your clinical repertoire. You’ll benefit from assignments that honor your expertise while introducing you to new teams, equipment, and procedural protocols, all while enjoying a climate that both inspires focus and rewards downtime with memorable local experiences.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Role responsibilities: As a Special Procedures Tech, you’ll perform a range of interventional radiology and advanced imaging procedures under radiologist guidance. This includes venography, angiography, catheter placements, embolizations, biopsies, and fluoroscopy-guided interventions. You’ll prep patients, ensure sterile technique, operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment, and document procedural findings with precision. You’ll collaborate closely with nurses, technologists, and physicians to maintain patient safety, optimize image quality, and streamline workflow in fast-paced suites.
- Professional growth: This role is designed for skilled technologists seeking growth within the specialty. You’ll have access to mentorship, ongoing training in cutting-edge interventional techniques, and opportunities to expand into related modalities or leadership pathways as assignments evolve. Your demonstrated expertise can accelerate broader responsibilities across multiple sites and modalities, reinforcing a trajectory toward senior technologist or program leadership roles.
- Competitive benefits: Enjoy a compelling compensation package that reflects your expertise, including a weekly pay range of $2,270 to $2,417. In addition, you may receive a sign-on bonus, housing assistance to ease relocation, and the possibility of contract extensions to deepen your experience with our partner facilities. Flexible contract durations (weeks with extension potential) are designed to align with project needs and your personal plans, with the option to explore longer-term opportunities as they arise.
- Support and flexibility: A robust support network surrounds you 24/7 while traveling with the company. From credentialing assistance to on-site coordination and remote help desks, you’ll have real-time access to resources that keep your assignments running smoothly. Though guaranteed hours are not set, the program emphasizes reliability, transparent scheduling, and proactive coverage to minimize downtime and maximize professional engagement.
- Compliance and safety: You’ll follow rigorous safety, radiation protection, and patient care standards, while maintaining meticulous documentation and quality metrics that demonstrate your impact on patient outcomes and departmental efficiency. Your contribution enhances not only individual procedures but the overall effectiveness of interventional imaging services.
