Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Plymouth, MA
Contracted
Beth Isreal Deaconess Hospital - Plymouth CC
Mid Level
Step into a purpose-driven role as a Registered Nurse specializing in PACU, based in Plymouth, Massachusetts. In this assignment, you’ll be the essential bridge between the operating room and recovery, delivering skilled, compassionate care that helps patients transition from anesthesia to stability with dignity and comfort. You’ll apply meticulous assessment, clinical judgment, and clear communication to monitor airway, ventilation, circulation, pain, and nausea while supporting calm, efficient handoffs. Your impact extends beyond the bedside, shaping patient experience, enhancing recovery pathways, and contributing to a culture of evidence-based practice. Imagine the difference you’ll make in every patient’s wake, backed by a community that values your expertise. And when you step outside the hospital walls, Massachusetts greets you with a rich tapestry of places to explore—from Plymouth’s historic waterfront and the lure of Cape Cod’s beaches to Boston’s thriving arts scene and the scenic beauty of the Berkshires in every season.
Working in Plymouth offers a compelling blend of coastal living, access to renowned schools and healthcare facilities, and an inviting community atmosphere. You’ll enjoy easy commutes, safe neighborhoods, and opportunities to immerse yourself in local culture, seafood cuisine, and outdoor recreation along the shore. The location also serves as a gateway to broader experiences: this travel program includes the possibility of assignments at other hospitals across the United States, allowing you to broaden your clinical perspective, build resilience in diverse settings, and expand your professional network while maintaining the option to anchor your base in Massachusetts when you wish. The shift rhythms are designed to support work-life balance, and you’ll be part of a nationwide network dedicated to clinical excellence, mentorship, and supportive collaboration with physicians, anesthesiologists, and surgery teams.
In this PACU RN role, your responsibilities are clear and impactful. You will provide vigilant post-anesthesia care, continuously monitor vital signs, oxygenation, and airway status; promptly identify evolving recovery patterns and potential complications; manage pain, nausea, and hemodynamic fluctuations with evidence-based interventions; support depth of anesthesia recovery and airway safety, including device oversight as needed. You will prepare patients for discharge or transfer to the appropriate unit, ensure accurate and thorough documentation, and participate in standardized handoffs to PACU staff and operative teams. You’ll contribute to unit-based quality improvement initiatives, engage in ongoing professional development, and pursue opportunities to deepen expertise within the PACU specialty. The role offers pathways for growth, including leadership responsibilities in charge nurse rotations or precepting newer staff, as well as access to specialty education programs that strengthen critical thinking, patient education, and perioperative care skills. Compensation highlights include a competitive weekly pay range of $2,524 to $2,726, and a potential sign-on bonus to acknowledge your expertise and commitment. Housing assistance is available to help you with relocation or temporary housing needs, and extension opportunities can arise based on performance and department demand. This assignment spans weeks, with scheduling designed to align with department needs, patient census, and your training goals. Most importantly, you’ll operate with robust support from a dedicated travel team that provides 24/7 assistance as you travel, manage credentials, and coordinate shifts, housing, and onboarding logistics so you can focus on delivering outstanding patient care.
Company values center on empowering staff, fostering career advancement, and cultivating a supportive, collaborative work environment. You’ll find mentors and teammates who celebrate clinical curiosity, encourage skill development, and share best practices in perioperative care. The organization is committed to your growth as a clinician—a place where your voice matters, where you can seek leadership opportunities, and where success is measured by the quality of care you help deliver and the trust you build with patients and families. You’ll be encouraged to innovate, pursue specialty certifications, and participate in programs that recognize and reward your hard work and dedication. The culture is one of inclusion, transparency, and mutual respect, ensuring you feel valued as you contribute to the safety and healing of every patient.
If you’re ready to advance your PACU career in a setting that blends clinical challenge with rich regional appeal, this is your invitation. Apply to join a team that respects your expertise, supports your professional development, and stands beside you as you impact patient outcomes across Plymouth and beyond. Start date is 01/12/2026, with weeks-long assignments and the potential for extensions as opportunities arise. Note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
