Travel Physical Therapist Job
Clearlake, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health Clear Lake - Westways
Mid Level
Step into a transformative Travel Physical Therapist role in Clearlake, California, where your clinical expertise will restore movement, relieve pain, and empower patients to reclaim their daily lives. In this dynamic assignment, you’ll apply evidence-based techniques across a range of settings, from outpatient clinics to community wellness programs, guiding individuals through individualized treatment plans that optimize function and independence. Your impact will extend beyond the clinic walls as you collaborate with physicians, nurses, and caregivers to coordinate care, set meaningful goals, and celebrate patient milestones. As you embolden people to move with confidence, you’ll also carve out a path for professional growth, expanding your repertoire of therapeutic modalities, adapting to diverse case mixes, and refining your clinical judgment in real-world contexts. This role is designed for proactive PTs who thrive on variety, autonomy, and the satisfaction of seeing tangible improvements in mobility, balance, gait, and overall quality of life. In addition to the immediate clinical rewards, you’ll witness the beauty of California’s landscapes each day. From the shimmering shores of nearby lakes to the shaded trails of redwood parks, California’s natural diversity offers restorative opportunities during downtime and weekend explorations. And for those drawn to exploration, the opportunity to work in multiple locations across the U.S. can broaden your clinical exposure, expose you to different patient populations, and amplify your professional network—while you still enjoy the unique character and charm of Clearlake as your home base.
Clearlake is a gateway to outdoor adventure and a welcoming community, where you’ll experience a balanced lifestyle that supports both professional focus and personal well-being. The region’s natural amenities invite daily opportunities for hiking, kayaking, fishing, and scenic drives, while nearby towns and cities provide cultural events, farmers markets, and regional cuisine. The appeal of working in this location is enhanced by the ability to savor a slower pace at times, paired with the bold energy of a growing healthcare market. You’ll also have the flexibility to experience other parts of the country through your travel assignments, gaining exposure to urban clinics and rural health centers that reflect the breadth of American PT practice. This combination of iconic California scenery and diverse practice environments offers a unique professional and personal enrichment experience, making your travel tenure both rewarding and memorable.
In this role, your key responsibilities will center on comprehensive patient evaluation, development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, and ongoing progress tracking to adjust interventions as needed. You’ll conduct initial assessments to determine functional goals and safe discharge plans, reassess progress regularly, and employ a range of therapeutic approaches—manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait and balance retraining, neuromuscular re-education, and modalities appropriate to each patient’s condition. Collaboration is essential: you’ll work closely with physicians, case managers, and support staff to ensure coordinated care, timely documentation, and seamless transitions to home or community-based programs. Documentation will be precise and aligned with current standards, ensuring continuity of care across facilities. You’ll also educate patients and families about home exercise programs, injury prevention, fall risk reduction, and activity modification to sustain gains after therapy concludes. The role offers opportunities for professional growth within physical therapy specialties, exposure to varied caseloads, and the chance to contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives. We provide a robust framework of benefits that recognizes your skills and dedication: a competitive weekly pay range of $2,138 to $2,251, with the potential for performance bonuses tied to outcomes and program goals. Housing assistance is available to ease relocation and travel, helping you focus on patient care and skill advancement rather than logistics. Extension opportunities are encouraged, allowing you to build deeper expertise in traumatic or orthopedic PT, neuro-rehabilitation, geriatrics, or pediatric-focused programs, depending on the facility’s needs and your professional interests. You’ll have access to comprehensive support from day one and beyond, including 24/7 assistance while you travel with the company—whether you’re navigating a new assignment, coordinating care across settings, or addressing any on-call concerns. Our travel teams stand ready to help with credentialing, onboarding, scheduling, and clinical resources, ensuring you feel supported and empowered wherever your assignments take you.
Our company values center on empowerment, transparency, and a genuine commitment to your career trajectory. We believe in fostering a supportive work environment where your clinical judgment is respected and your ongoing development is prioritized. You’ll find mentorship opportunities, access to continuing education resources, and structured pathways to expand your scope of practice. Whether you’re seeking to deepen expertise in a specialty area of physical therapy or to broaden your leadership capabilities within a travel-friendly framework, you’ll find a culture that encourages initiative, curiosity, and professional dignity. Your success is our priority, and we’re dedicated to helping you grow—from skill refinement and evidence-based practice to advancing into leadership roles within clinical education or program development.
