Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long-Term Care Job

Winooski, VT
Contracted
Our Lady of Providence
Mid Level
Step into a purposeful role as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Long-Term Care in Vermont, where every shift offers the opportunity to influence the quality of daily life for residents and to support families with compassionate, evidence-informed care. In Winooski, a welcoming community just minutes from the vibrant energy of Burlington, you’ll combine clinical excellence with a sense of connection that uplifts both patients and teammates. This assignment begins on 01/07/2026 and runs for weeks, with guaranteed 40 hours per week and a competitive weekly pay range of $1,717-$1,839, reflecting your experience and shift type. This is more than a job—it's a chance to grow as a clinician and as a partner in a continuum of care that honors each resident’s dignity, preferences, and independence. And when you need a respite from the routine, Vermont’s beauty awaits: rolling green mountains, pristine lakes, covered bridges, and small towns rich with fall color, farm-to-table dining, and outdoor recreation that fit seamlessly into your life outside the facility.

Working in Winooski offers immediate advantages: a close-knit, supportive community that values collaboration, high-quality care, and work-life balance. You’ll enjoy the benefit of Vermont’s patient-centered healthcare culture, opportunities to deepen your long-term care expertise, and the chance to contribute to care plans that emphasize comfort, safety, and meaningful daily activities. For those who crave broader experiences, this role also opens doors to assignments across various locations in the United States, delivering exposure to diverse patient populations, facility cultures, and programming within long-term care. Whether you stay local or rotate through different environments, you’ll broaden your clinical toolkit—learning from a spectrum of cases, families, and interdisciplinary teams—while maintaining continuity of compassionate care for residents who depend on your steady presence.

In this role, you’ll perform essential responsibilities that keep residents safe, comfortable, and engaged. Administer medications and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse, monitor vital signs and changes in condition, assist with activities of daily living, mobility and transfers, and provide wound care and symptom management as needed. You’ll support nutrition, hydration, and oral care, help manage chronic diseases, monitor for adverse events, and respond promptly to emergencies with trained escalation. You’ll contribute to accurate documentation in electronic medical records, participate in care planning with the nurse team, and communicate openly with residents, families, and the broader care team. Education and advocacy are part of your day—teaching residents and families about treatment plans, safety practices, and advance directives. You’ll collaborate with physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, dietary staff, and nursing leadership to deliver holistic, person-centered care. And as you grow, there are clear pathways for professional development: pursuing certifications in long-term care, taking on mentorship roles for new staff or students, and exploring leadership opportunities such as charge nurse responsibilities as your experience deepens. The role also places emphasis on quality improvement, infection control, and best practices that elevate resident outcomes and staff satisfaction.

Alongside these responsibilities, you’ll enjoy robust benefits designed to attract and retain dedicated clinicians. The compensation reflects a competitive weekly range of $1,717-$1,839, with guaranteed 40 hours per week and a start date of 01/07/2026. We offer a welcome bonus and housing assistance to support your transition, plus opportunities for contract extensions that let you plan ahead and continue making an impact in familiar or new settings. Our program emphasizes comprehensive support for traveling clinicians: a dedicated 24/7 support team and travel coordinators who are available to assist with housing, transportation, credentialing, and on-site orientation. You’ll have access to clinical resources, peer networks, and a responsive backend designed to resolve issues quickly so you can focus on delivering exceptional care.

Our company values your professionalism and your potential. We are committed to empowering staff through transparent advancement pathways, ongoing education allowances, and a culture of mentorship and respect. You’ll thrive in an environment that recognizes your expertise, supports your goals, and fosters teamwork across geographic assignments. We believe in balancing rigorous clinical practice with a supportive, collaborative atmosphere that respects your contributions and encourages you to pursue new competencies, leadership roles, and specialty growth within the long-term care continuum.
