As a Respiratory Therapist in this assignment, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for adult patients and, when appropriate, pediatric patients. Primary responsibilities include initiating and adjusting ventilator support, delivering bronchodilator and mucolytic therapies, administering aerosols and chest physiotherapy, performing airway clearance techniques, and conducting arterial blood gas analyses and capnography as needed. You’ll monitor patient response, titrate therapy to target goals, manage suctioning and humidification systems, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure safe, effective therapy around the clock. Clear documentation in the electronic medical record will be precise and timely, with thorough handoffs to the care team to ensure continuity and safety of care.
