Travel Registered Nurse LTC Job
Truth Or Consequences, NM
Contracted
New Mexico State Veterans' Home
Mid Level
Embark on a rewarding journey as a Registered Nurse specializing in Long-Term Care, uniquely positioned in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. This is more than a job—it's a chance to mentor, advocate, and deliver compassionate, person-centered care that enhances daily living for residents who rely on skilled nursing support. In this role, you’ll blend clinical expertise with the everyday humanity that defines exemplary LTC practice, guiding care plans, coordinating with families, and partnering with interdisciplinary teams to foster environments where dignity, safety, and well-being thrive. Your hands will help soothe, educate, and empower some of the most deserving individuals, leaving a lasting imprint on both residents and their communities. And as you chart your path in this robust specialty, you’ll discover a career path that values your leadership, autonomy, and professional growth.
Truth or Consequences sits in a landscape where desert skies meet warm, welcoming communities, offering a serene backdrop for meaningful clinical work. The town blends historic charm with modern convenience, while the surrounding high desert and nearby hot springs provide ample opportunities for relaxation and recreation after shifts. For nurses who crave a blend of professional purpose and a high quality of life, this location presents a compelling balance of patient-focused care, supportive networks, and access to outdoor experiences that refresh the mind and body. Beyond Truth or Consequences, this opportunity also opens pathways to work across diverse locations in the United States, allowing you to broaden your clinical horizons while maintaining the same commitment to compassionate LTC practice.
As a LTC RN, you’ll be integral to care delivery and quality improvement. Your responsibilities will include comprehensive patient assessments, development and implementation of individualized care plans, medication administration and reconciliation, wound care management, infection prevention, and mobility and activities of daily living assistance. You’ll monitor vital signs, respond to acute changes in status, manage chronic conditions, and partner with physicians, therapists, social workers, and family members to coordinate seamless transitions of care. You’ll lead falls prevention initiatives, document meticulously, and advocate for residents’ rights and preferences. This role also offers abundant professional growth within the LTC specialty—leadership opportunities, preceptorship for new nurses, and ongoing education to deepen geriatric knowledge, palliative care, and complex case management. The position blends hands-on clinical duties with critical thinking, empathy, and collaboration, empowering you to refine your expertise while making a meaningful difference in daily life for residents.
The compensation package reflects a competitive, traveler-friendly model designed to recognize your expertise. Weekly pay ranges from $1,797 to $1,908, with additional benefits that may include a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease the transition into a new city or state. The contract is structured in weeks, with a Start Date of 02/26/2026, and a Duration measured in Weeks to accommodate flexible planning and rotation across facilities. While there is a framework for full-time engagement, Guaranteed Hours are listed as 0.0, acknowledging the realities of travel assignments where hours can fluctuate based on facility needs, patient census, and staffing. Despite that variability, you will receive robust scheduling support, clear expectations, and a transparent pathway to extend or renew assignments as you determine fit and career goals. This role emphasizes not only what you do, but how you grow—through mentorship, continued education stipends, and the chance to broaden your portfolio across LTC settings.
To support your travel and work-life balance, our program provides 24/7 assistance and on-call support for traveling healthcare professionals.
