Role specifics and benefits: As a Med Surg RN, you’ll perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vitals, manage IV therapies, administer medications, and support adults recovering from medical and surgical conditions. You’ll collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, case managers, and rehab teams to implement individualized care plans, anticipate needs, and coordinate safe, timely discharges. Your responsibilities extend to patient and family education, fall prevention, wound care, pain management, and meticulous documentation in the electronic health record. You’ll have opportunities to develop leadership skills by mentoring newer staff, taking on extended duties during the contract, and pursuing specialty certification support.
