Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Templeton, CA
Contracted
Adventist - Twin Cities
Mid Level
Step into a transformative Travel Registered Nurse role in Labor and Delivery in Templeton, California, and become a vital part of families welcoming new life. In this specialty, your hands will help guide expectant families through one of life’s most meaningful moments, delivering expert care, calm guidance, and proof that compassionate nursing can shape healthier beginnings. Imagine the impact you’ll have—being the steady presence in the delivery suite, collaborating with obstetricians and support teams, and empowering families with education and reassurance as they welcome their newest member. And when you’re ready to explore more of California’s beauty, you’ll discover that Templeton sits in the heart of the Central Coast, with easy access to the rolling vineyards, sunlit beaches, and scenic coastlines that define this region. Beyond Templeton, the opportunity to work in various locations across California or across the U.S. adds breadth to your career, offering diverse patient populations, hospital environments, and professional challenges that sharpen your expertise and enrich your professional narrative.

Templeton and the broader Central Coast deliver a compelling location experience. You’ll be part of a community that values work-life balance, with a climate that makes outdoor living part of daily life. From weekend escapes to nearby beaches and parks to winery tastings along famous wine routes, the area rewards your career focus with a region that feels close to nature and far from the stress of more congested urban centers. For those who crave travel, this assignment opens doors to additional sites across the U.S.—each new city offering unique cultural experiences, hospital systems, and opportunities to connect with diverse patient communities, all while maintaining the support and structure of a dedicated travel program.

In this role, you’ll carry the responsibilities that define high-level labor and delivery care. You’ll assess maternal and fetal status, monitor labor progress, manage pain and anesthesia adjuncts in collaboration with obstetric teams, and respond rapidly to emergencies with calmly executed, evidence-based interventions. You’ll support newborn care, assist with deliveries, perform post-delivery assessments, educate families about newborn care and lactation support, and document clearly and precisely in the medical record. You’ll mentor and collaborate with new grads and seasoned staff alike, sharing your knowledge and refining your practice through opportunities for continuing education and specialty development within L&D. The position offers a competitive weekly pay range of $2,646 to $2,717, reflecting the value placed on your expertise and the level of responsibility in this critical field. Because this is travel nursing, hours and assignments can fluctuate, with a flexible duration of weeks and no guaranteed hours, ensuring you have the freedom to tailor your schedule to your preferences and life goals.

The package includes meaningful benefits designed to attract, retain, and support you. You’ll have access to a competitive bonus structure that recognizes your commitment and performance, as well as housing assistance to ease the transition to a new city or region. Extension opportunities let you continue your impact beyond an initial assignment, enabling you to deepen your clinical acumen, establish strong professional relationships, and continue contributing to outstanding patient outcomes. You’ll also receive comprehensive 24/7 support from a dedicated company team, ready to assist with housing, travel logistics, credentialing, and clinical questions as you navigate multiple assignments with confidence. This level of ongoing support is designed to let you focus on delivering exceptional care while the broader program handles the rest.

The company behind this opportunity is committed to empowering its staff, prioritizing career advancement, and fostering a supportive work environment where your professional goals are respected and advanced. You’ll find resources, mentorship, and a culture that values collaboration, transparency, and ongoing learning. Whether you envision leadership in perioperative coordination, lactation consults, or unit-based specialization, the organization provides pathways to help you achieve these milestones while you continue to be the compassionate, skilled nurse patients and families rely on.

Ready to take the next step? This assignment starts December 29, 2025, and offers a flexible weeks-based duration with the benefits described above.
