Location benefits are a cornerstone of this assignment. Templeton sits in the heart of California’s Central Coast, offering a welcoming, family-friendly community, convenient access to Paso Robles wine country, and a temperate climate that makes year-round outdoor time appealing. You’ll enjoy a quality of life that blends easy commutes, access to coastal escapes, and a thriving food and arts scene. In this role, you’ll perform key responsibilities that define the First Assist scope and push your professional growth. You will provide direct first-assist support in the operating room, helping with exposure, tissue handling, retraction, hemostasis, and meticulous wound closure under the surgeon’s direction. You’ll maintain impeccable sterile technique, ensure instrument readiness, and participate in preoperative briefings, patient positioning, and intraoperative communication to optimize patient safety. Your contributions will extend to postoperative considerations, documentation, and care coordination with anesthesia, circulating nurses, and surgical technologists. You’ll engage in ongoing credentialing and skill refinement, expanding your capability to participate in a broader range of procedures, and you’ll gain exposure to diverse patient populations and case mixes that sharpen decision-making, critical thinking, and teamwork. The role offers clear pathways for professional growth within the First Assist specialty and the broader perioperative field, including opportunities to assume leadership responsibilities on certain cases, mentor junior staff, and contribute to process improvements in perioperative care. Benefits are designed to be competitive and growth-oriented, including a bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities that align with your career plans. Though this is a travel assignment with no guaranteed hours, the weekly pay range of $2,898-$3,057 reflects the value of your expertise and the level of responsibility you’ll undertake, positioning you to achieve financial goals while maintaining clinical excellence.
