Utica, NY
Contracted
MVHS Wynn Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a meaningful journey as a Travel NICU Registered Nurse in Utica, New York, where every shift offers the chance to steer miracles in real time. In this role you’ll combine precision clinical skill with deep human connection, guiding fragile lives from critical moments toward steady growth and hopeful outcomes. Beginning 03/30/2026, this assignment runs for an extended number of weeks with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and a competitive weekly pay range of $2,115 to $2,260. You’ll join a supportive, patient-centered team that values your expertise, respects your boundaries, and equips you with the resources you need to thrive on the road and in the NICU. If you’ve imagined turning complex neonatal care into a collaborative, uplifting experience for families, this opportunity was designed with you in mind.

Utica sits in the Mohawk Valley, where the charm of a tight-knit community meets access to the broader wonders of upstate New York. You’ll experience a balance of small-city warmth and big-care capability, with opportunities to explore the region’s natural beauty—from nearby Adirondack outings and lake views to cultural festivals and historic streets that tell the story of the area. This assignment offers a stable base in Utica while also opening doors to possible placements across diverse NICU settings in New York and beyond. You’ll gain exposure to levels II and III NICUs, encounter varied patient populations, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that champions evidence-based practice, family-centered care, and compassionate communication. For weekend or short getaways, you can enjoy the state’s scenic landscapes, vibrant dining scenes, and a wealth of museums, parks, and festivals that make the region both restorative and inspiring.

In this NICU RN role, you’ll be at the forefront of neonatal care: monitoring neonates’ vital signs, assisting with ventilation and complex support, managing IVs, feeds, thermoregulation, and pain control, and partnering with families to prepare for discharge. You’ll participate in rounds, develop and implement individualized care plans, and advocate for the newborns as you coordinate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, lactation consultants, and social work. Your responsibilities will include meticulous charting, infection prevention, and adherence to hospital protocols, ensuring safe transitions across shifts and units. This role is designed for growth: you’ll have access to continuing education, mentorship from experienced NICU clinicians, and opportunities to expand into leadership tracks such as charge nurse, preceptor, or specialty educator. The contract emphasizes extension opportunities, allowing you to deepen expertise in neonatal physiology, advanced monitoring, and family communication strategies that support long-term outcomes for infants and their families.

Competitive benefits accompany this indispensable work. In addition to the weekly pay of $2,115–$2,260 and the guaranteed 36 hours, you’ll receive housing assistance to ease transitions, as well as bonuses tied to performance and tenure. The program is built for mobility and continuity, with extension options that let you deepen your impact while maintaining flexibility. You’ll also gain comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team, including 24/7 assistance while you’re traveling with the company, coordination for licensure, and onboarding that helps you hit the ground running in new environments. This is care you can rely on, delivered with structure, transparency, and a commitment to your professional evolution.

The company’s values center on empowering staff to grow, flourish, and contribute meaningfully to neonatal care.
