Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long-Term Care Job
Location benefits go beyond the city’s charm. Albuquerque combines a thriving healthcare network with a high quality of life, affordable living, and a climate that supports an active lifestyle. You’ll experience a supportive professional environment that emphasizes teamwork with registered nurses, attending physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate comprehensive care plans. The role also affords flexible assignment options across the United States, allowing you to explore different care settings, learn new clinical workflows, and gain exposure to diverse resident populations. For professionals who value balance, the opportunity to pair meaningful work in the Southwest with potential assignments in other regions can enhance your resume, expand your professional network, and enrich your caregiving repertoire while maintaining your well-being.
As an LPN in Long-Term Care, you’ll play a central role in resident well-being and quality of life. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include administering prescribed medications and treatments with precision and safety, monitoring vital signs, and recognizing subtle shifts in condition that require timely intervention. You will perform routine assessments, contribute to individualized care plans, and collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based interventions. You’ll assist residents with activities of daily living, support mobility and fall prevention, manage wound care and skin integrity, and provide compassionate comfort during times of transition or uncertainty. Documentation will be meticulous, accurate, and timely to ensure continuity of care. You’ll engage with families to explain care goals, respond to questions, and reassure loved ones during challenging moments. There will be ongoing opportunities for your professional growth, including enhanced wound care techniques, geriatric assessment skills, and leadership experiences such as precepting new staff or serving as a charge nurse during shifts when qualified. The assignment emphasizes not only clinical proficiency but also empathetic communication, cultural sensitivity, and advocacy for each resident’s preferences and values.
The position offers competitive compensation with a pay range of $1,252 to $1,323 per week, reflecting your expertise and the scope of responsibilities. You will have guaranteed hours of 36.0 per week, contributing to financial stability and predictable planning for personal commitments. In addition to base pay, the role may include a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease relocation and daily living, along with potential extension opportunities should you wish to continue contributing to the same facility or explore related assignments. The support structure for traveling professionals is robust: a dedicated, 24/7 support team is available to assist you on the road, during shift changes, or when navigating new facilities, shifts, or state-specific protocols. You’ll receive guidance on licensing requirements, facility orientation, and onboarding, with an emphasis on minimizing barriers to your clinical effectiveness and personal peace of mind.
The company’s values center on empowering staff to grow, learn, and advance within a cooperative, respectful workplace. You’ll be encouraged to pursue career development tracks, obtain additional certifications, and take on leadership opportunities that align with your goals—whether that means expanding into clinical education, mentorship roles, or project-based quality improvement initiatives. The environment is designed to be supportive, with access to resources, mentorship, peer collaboration, and recognition for your contributions to resident outcomes and team cohesion. Your well-being is a priority, from reasonable scheduling to ongoing training that reinforces safe practice and cultural humility.
Ready to embark on a journey that blends clinical excellence with personal growth and travel opportunities?
