URMC Strong Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a purpose-driven role as a Registered Nurse in Long-Term Care, Rochester, New York, and bring compassionate care to residents who depend on skilled, steady hands and a thoughtful approach to daily living. This LTC travel assignment is designed to amplify your impact, giving you the chance to mentor staff, refine clinical judgment, and strengthen care plans that honor dignity, comfort, and independence. As you envision your days, picture the gratitude of residents and families, the trust of a care team that has your back, and the meaningful progress that comes with expert, person-centered nursing. And when you’re ready for a change of scenery, the beauty of New York stateside awaits—Lake Ontario’s peaceful shores, the rolling vineyards and parks of the Finger Lakes, and Rochester’s vibrant culture with museums, gardens, and a thriving downtown scene. For nurses who crave variety, this role also offers opportunities to work in different locations across the U.S., expanding your clinical repertoire while you advance professionally.

Location benefits go beyond a single city. Rochester, NY, presents a welcoming community with a resilient healthcare ecosystem, robust resources for interdisciplinary collaboration, and a pace that supports thoughtful, thorough patient care. You’ll benefit from proximity to quality facilities, continuing education options, and the chance to immerse yourself in a region known for its lakeside recreational appeal, dining, and cultural amenities. For those who enjoy exploring, this placement paves the way to rotations in additional sites nationwide, exposing you to diverse patient populations and facility models. The blend of urban accessibility, access to outdoor spaces, and a strong sense of community makes Rochester a rewarding place to practice LTC nursing. And if your spirit seeks more travel, you’ll be supported as you move through assignments across the U.S., with resources that help you navigate housing, logistics, and local nuances at every turn.

In this assignment, you’ll perform the core responsibilities of a seasoned LTC RN while pursuing ongoing growth within the specialty. Your duties include patient assessment, development, and refinement of individualized care plans; administration of medications and management of chronic conditions; wound care, dementia-informed care, and fall prevention; timely documentation; coordination with physicians, therapists, social workers, and family members to ensure continuity of care; and leadership in medication reconciliation, safety protocols, and care rounding. You’ll have opportunities to broaden your expertise through evidence-based practices, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and mentor less experienced team members. The position offers competitive weekly pay in the range of $2,056 to $2,195, with the chance to earn increments through performance and extended assignments. Start date is 02/02/2026, for a defined number of weeks, with the potential for extension based on need and performance. While guaranteed hours are listed as 0.0, this role emphasizes reliability through consistent scheduling, responsive assignment management, and the option to extend with ongoing contracts. Final compensation packages will be confirmed during the hiring process, and the team will provide clear guidance on shift patterns, overtime opportunities, and site-specific policies.

A hallmark of this opportunity is the comprehensive support designed to keep you focused on patient care, not logistics. You’ll have 24/7 support from a dedicated travel team, ready to assist with housing options, ongoing credentialing needs, and seamless onboarding. The position also includes housing assistance and access to a broad network of travel partners, which helps you secure comfortable accommodations near your assignment site. The company values your professional growth and well-being, backing you with resources to pursue certifications relevant to long-term care, exposure to leadership roles, and pathways to assume more responsibility as you gain experience. In this environment, you’ll feel empowered to advocate for residents, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a career that blends clinical excellence with compassionate leadership.

Our company is committed to empowering its staff through opportunities for advancement, a supportive culture, and a clear emphasis on work-life integration. You’ll join a community that prioritizes mentorship, constructive feedback, and consistent recognition for your contributions. You’ll be encouraged to take initiative, pursue professional development, and expand your scope within geriatrics, palliative care, and senior health services, all while enjoying the stability and reliability of a travel program designed with your needs in mind.
