Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Core responsibilities: Deliver expert obstetric nursing care across labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods; monitor labor progression with external and internal monitoring as appropriate; administer and manage analgesia and anesthesia support in collaboration with anesthesiology teams; assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, when needed; perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization in coordination with the NICU team; provide lactation support, patient education, and family-centered discharge planning; promote fetal well-being, maternal safety, and infection control; maintain meticulous documentation and handoff communications to ensure continuity of care.
- Professional growth: Engage in ongoing skill enhancement within the L&D specialty, pursue relevant certifications (e.g., RNC-OB, Fetal Monitoring), participate in unit-based evidence-based practice initiatives, and access mentorship from senior obstetric specialists that accelerate your advancement within perinatal nursing.
