Step into a pivotal ICU nursing role in Burlington, Vermont, with a start date of 03/02/2026, and bring your expertise to a high‑acuity environment where every decision shapes the trajectory of a patient’s recovery. As a Travel ICU Registered Nurse, you will join a collaborative, patient‑centered team that blends precision, compassion, and innovation to deliver exemplary critical care. This is more than a contract—it’s a chance to make meaningful impact in a region celebrated for its outdoor splendor, cultural richness, and sense of community, while growing your professional repertoire in one of the nation’s most welcoming hospital networks.
Nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain, Burlington offers a dynamic blend of small‑city charm and urban access. Enjoy strolls along the waterfront, a thriving dining and arts scene, and a gateway to the Green Mountains for weekend outdoor adventures—skiing, hiking, and boating opportunities abound. Vermont’s pristine landscapes, seasonal beauty, and safe, walkable neighborhoods create a balanced backdrop for demanding clinical work. When you’re ready for a change of scenery or the chance to serve in different settings, there’s also the opportunity to work across various locations in the U.S., gaining exposure to diverse patient populations and hospital cultures while anchored by the supportive infrastructure of a national travel program.
In this ICU RN role, you’ll lead and support critical care teams in the care of severely ill patients. Core responsibilities include vigilant hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and the administration of vasoactive infusions; performing procedures such as arterial and central venous access; interpreting monitors and lab data to guide interventions; coordinating with physicians, pharmacists, and case managers to optimize plans of care; and providing clear, compassionate communication to patients’ families. You’ll document meticulously, uphold infection control standards, and participate in rounds and rapid response efforts. The position emphasizes continuous professional development—from staying current with evidence‑based protocols to pursuing certification pathways and leadership opportunities within the ICU specialty. You’ll have the chance to broaden competencies across critical care subspecialties, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and mentor junior staff or travelers in transition, all while delivering the highest level of patient‑and‑family‑centered care.
The role comes with competitive benefits designed to support you at every step. Expect a generous weekly pay range of $2,129–$2,280, reflecting your expertise and the demands of critical care practice, with the flexibility to extend assignments and explore longer‑term opportunities within the same program. Housing assistance helps you settle quickly, reducing the friction of travel life and letting you focus on patient care and professional growth. A sign‑on bonus may be available to recognize your commitment to excellence in ICU nursing. In addition, you’ll enjoy extension opportunities—contracts you can renew to deepen your integration with the facility and to steadily advance your clinical leadership skills. To keep you thriving on the road, we offer 24/7 support—dedicated travel coordination and a responsive help desk to assist with housing, scheduling, credentialing, and on‑the‑fly needs—so you’re never more than a call away from assistance. It’s a holistic package designed to honor your expertise, your time, and your well‑being as you navigate new assignments across the country.
Our company values your professional voice and career elevation. We’re committed to empowering staff with ongoing education, practical mentorship, and a supportive, inclusive work environment that recognizes the unique perspectives traveling clinicians bring. You’ll find clear pathways for advancement, whether you’re pursuing enhanced clinical specialization, charge‑nurse responsibilities, or opportunities to contribute to training programs and process improvements. We believe in balancing ambitious clinical impact with sustainable work‑life rhythms, helping you build a resilient career in critical care.
