Step into a dynamic Travel Registered Nurse role in Med Surg in Portland, Oregon, with a start date of 03/16/2026. This is your opportunity to deliver high-impact, patient-centered care across a demanding Med Surg environment, where every shift offers the chance to refine clinical judgment, strengthen teamwork, and elevate the standard of daily care. You’ll support adults navigating complex medical journeys, coordinating closely with physicians, therapists, and case managers to stabilize, educate, and empower patients and their families. Alongside the meaningful care you provide, you’ll discover a state and a city whose natural beauty and vibrant culture continually inspire your professional and personal growth. From the lush forests and stunning river canyons to the iconic Portland waterfront and nearby cascades, Oregon’s landscapes invite recovery and renewal after demanding shifts, while the city itself blends outdoor adventure with a thriving arts and culinary scene that keeps you energized and connected to the community you serve.
Portland offers a compelling backdrop for your travel nursing experience. This city fuses urban vitality with easy access to nature, renowned parks, and a robust healthcare network that supports continuous learning and cross-disciplinary collaboration. You’ll be immersed in a community known for sustainability, accessibility, and a welcoming spirit, where food carts, breweries, coffee culture, and cultural events punctuate a work-life rhythm that respects your time and well-being. In addition to the Portland assignment, there may be opportunities to work in other locations across the United States through our traveling program, expanding your clinical repertoire, exposing you to diverse patient populations, and enriching your professional perspective while you remain backed by a dedicated support team.
Role specifics and benefits. As a Med Surg RN, you will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, monitor evolving conditions, interpret labs and imaging, and implement timely care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Your daily duties will include administering medications and IV therapies, wound care, infection control, postoperative monitoring, pain management, and transition planning with a clear emphasis on patient education and family engagement. You’ll participate in rounds, contribute to care coordination and discharge planning, and ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records. This role emphasizes growth—opportunities to expand critical thinking in acute-medical and post-surgical pathways, broaden proficiency across varied Med Surg specialties, and pursue certifications through internal pathways and mentorship that recognize your evolving expertise.
The compensation and benefits package is designed to recognize your skills and support your goals. You’ll receive competitive weekly pay in the range of $1,750 to $1,770, with additional financial incentives such as a sign-on or performance bonus where applicable, and housing assistance to ease relocation. We also offer relocation support and extension opportunities that enable you to prolong your assignment, explore additional shifts, or transition into longer-term contracts aligned with your career objectives. The program prioritizes comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, a dedicated travel coordination team, on-call clinical resources, and a thorough orientation that helps you feel confident from day one. Note: the assignment features flexible scheduling with no guaranteed hours at this time, reflecting the dynamic nature of travel healthcare staffing.
