Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job

Nashua, NH
Contracted
St Joseph Hospital - Nashua
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and become a trusted clinician at the intersection of critical care and compassionate recovery. In this specialty, you’ll care for adults who require vigilant monitoring, expert decision-making, and a steady hand as they transition from high acuity to stabilized health. Your expertise will help families breathe easier as you interpret complex telemetry, manage intricate medication regimens, and deliver patient-centered care that honors both clinical needs and dignity. This isn’t just a position—it’s a chance to shape outcomes, elevate practice, and grow within a dynamic team dedicated to excellence. And while you chart this professional path, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful places of New Hampshire—the crisp air, scenic byways, and vibrant communities that frame your work with balance and inspiration.

Based in Nashua, New Hampshire, you’ll join a community hospital environment that blends a robust patient base with a welcoming, supportive culture. Nashua’s approachable size means practical access to strong specialty services, efficient collaboration with physicians, nurses, and ancillary teams, and a work-life rhythm that supports ongoing growth. Beyond the local setting, this role also opens doors to assignments across the United States, allowing you to experience a wide range of patient populations, hospital cultures, and care models. When you’re not delivering care in Nashua, you may have the chance to apply your PCU expertise in other regions, expanding your clinical perspective and your professional network. The combination of stable facility hours, a guaranteed 36 hours per week, and a competitive weekly pay range of $2,899 to $3,023 ensures you are supported as you plan your next chapter. The start date for this assignment is December 15, 2025, and the duration is listed as Weeks, giving you flexibility to align with your personal and professional goals. Housing assistance and relocation support are available to help smooth the transition, with opportunities to extend engagement based on performance, need, and facility availability.

On the floor, you’ll perform essential PCU duties: continuous patient monitoring, telemetry interpretation, IV therapy administration, timely administration of medications, and careful coordination with physicians, case managers, and families to plan safe discharge. You’ll assess evolving patient conditions, identify subtle changes, and escalate concerns promptly, contributing to accelerated recovery trajectories and reduced length of stay where possible. You’ll participate in care planning, discharge education, and family communication, while maintaining meticulous documentation to support continuity of care. The role includes professional growth through unit-based training, mentorship from seasoned critical care nurses, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification in PCU or related pathways. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes a signing or completion bonus, housing assistance, and options for contract extensions that recognize your impact and reliability. In addition, you’ll have access to 24/7 support from a dedicated travel care team, ensuring you’re never far from assistance, guidance, or resources while you’re on assignment. You’ll be part of a culture that values your clinical judgment, fosters collaboration, and rewards initiative with a pathway to broader responsibilities.

Our organization is anchored in empowering staff—providing mentorship, ongoing education, and clear opportunities for career advancement. We’re committed to building a supportive environment where clinicians can excel, expand their skill sets, and feel valued for their contributions to patient care.
