Role Specifics and Benefits
As a Med Surg Tele RN, your responsibilities will center on high-acuity medical-surgical patients who require continuous telemetry monitoring and rapid clinical assessments. You will:
- Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemonitored patients, including accurate assessment, documentation, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and infusion management.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, recognize early signs of deterioration, and initiate timely interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient education, ensuring clear communication with families and primary care teams to optimize transitions of care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, update care plans as patient status evolves, and advocate for evidence-based practices to improve outcomes.
- Maintain precise charting in the electronic health record, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in daily huddles and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, seek opportunities for certification in telemetry or relevant subspecialties, and contribute to a learning culture through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
