Step into a pivotal nursing role as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg, stationed in the inviting community of Hilo, Hawaii. In this role you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adults navigating complex medical-surgical journeys, guiding patients toward recovery while advancing your clinical expertise within a supportive, patient-centered environment. You’ll assess, monitor, and intervene with precision, coordinating multidisciplinary care that improves outcomes and strengthens family engagement. Your dedication will elevate the standard of care on a fast-paced Med Surg unit, where teamwork, learning, and professional growth are the norm. This opportunity blends clinical excellence with a lifestyle that celebrates island culture, making every shift meaningful and every challenge solvable. Separately, you can also reflect on Hawaii’s stunning settings—lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, pristine beaches, and volcanic landscapes—that enrich your life beyond the bedside.

Location Benefits: Hilo on the Big Island offers a welcoming, close-knit nursing community set against a backdrop of natural beauty. Enjoy a temperate, tropical climate that supports an active outdoor lifestyle, from hiking misty trails to strolling coastal paths after duty hours. The role affords the unique chance to experience Hawaii’s diverse patient populations and cultural richness while delivering high-quality care. For broader professional exposure, the opportunity to work in various U.S. locations through our travel network is available, bringing you the advantages of exposure to different hospital systems, patient demographics, and clinical protocols. In either setting, you’ll benefit from a supportive environment designed to promote balance, professional fulfillment, and a sense of purpose as you serve patients during their medically complex journeys.

Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Responsibilities and growth: Provide comprehensive Med Surg nursing care for adult patients, including accurate assessment and continuous monitoring of vitals, timely medication administration and IV therapy, wound and drain care, pain management, admissions and discharges, and coordination of discharge planning. You’ll participate in daily rounds, implement evidence-based care plans, and educate patients and families to empower informed decisions. This role also offers pathways for professional growth within the Med Surg specialty, with mentorship from experienced colleagues, opportunities to pursue unit leadership tracks, and access to specialty certifications and continuing education that bolster your clinical profile.
- Competitive benefits and incentives: The package is designed to recognize your skills and dedication, featuring a weekly pay range of $1,847-$1,894, with a bonus program that rewards performance and successful contract milestones. Housing assistance is provided to ease relocation considerations, and there are extension opportunities to continue your impact beyond the initial assignment. Additionally, you may receive support for professional development, orientation, and onboarding to accelerate your integration into the team.
- Support and flexibility: You will benefit from comprehensive, 24/7 support from a dedicated travel team as you move between assignments. This includes access to clinical consultants, on-call nursing liaisons, and operational resources designed to reduce barriers to care and ensure a smooth travel experience. The arrangement offers flexibility appropriate for travel nursing, with shifts that align to patient needs and staffing realities while maintaining your clinical autonomy.

Start Date and Duration: The assignment begins on 02/09/2026, and durations are expressed in weeks, with the structure designed to accommodate high patient needs and your personal scheduling preferences. Although the program indicates Guaranteed Hours: 0.0, you will receive assigned shifts through a reliable scheduling system with consistency in weekly hours, subject to unit demand and agency policies. Final details regarding contract length, shift patterns, and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
