Take the next bold step in your ICU nursing career with a dynamic travel assignment in California’s scenic foothills and historic towns. As an ICU Registered Nurse, you’ll deliver life-saving care in a high-stakes environment, collaborating with a team of experts to monitor critically ill patients, implement advanced interventions, and guide families through challenging moments. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to sharpen your clinical expertise, elevate patient outcomes, and experience the tangible satisfaction that comes from decisive care in the ICU. When you’re not at the bedside, you can savor Sonora’s charm—gold-rush era streets, nearby forests and rivers, and the warm, welcoming pace of a community that values your craft.
Working in Sonora offers a genuine blend of professional excellence and personal enrichment. You’ll be part of a healthcare community that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and continuous learning, with state-of-the-art resources and a culture built around compassionate care. Beyond the immediate clinical impact, you’ll enjoy the beauty and accessibility of Northern California’s landscapes—year-round outdoor recreation, easy access to touring, hiking, and scenic getaways—making work-life balance tangible. For those who crave variety, there’s also the opportunity to travel to diverse locations across the U.S., expanding your professional network and exposing you to a range of patient populations and care settings. Each placement is designed to broaden your perspective while keeping you grounded in your clinical strengths.
In this ICU role, you’ll manage a broad range of responsibilities that strengthen your leadership in critical care. You’ll monitor and optimize hemodynamics, calibrate ventilator support, administer medications, and execute complex interventions with precision and calm under pressure. You’ll lead and participate in rapid response and resuscitation efforts, collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and revise care plans, and engage in evidence-based practices to improve outcomes. Documentation accuracy, infection control, and patient safety remain at the forefront, and you’ll have ample opportunity for professional growth within the ICU specialty—whether you’re pursuing deeper proficiency in sedation protocols, bedside ultrasound, or advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Our program also supports skill enhancement through ongoing education, case reviews, and mentorship, ensuring you stay at the cutting edge of critical care nursing.
Your compensation package reflects the value you bring. You’ll receive competitive weekly pay in the range of 1,802 to 1,927, with comprehensive housing assistance and the potential for contract extensions as needs evolve. The role includes a clear pathway for bonus opportunities and the chance to secure extension options that align with your career goals. You’ll have access to robust 24/7 support from our traveling program—whether you’re navigating a new facility, coordinating with a clinical supervisor, or resolving a scheduling question, we’re by your side. In addition, you’ll experience the benefit of flexible scheduling designed to accommodate your life outside the unit, with guaranteed hours shown as 0.0 in the posting yet the possibility of meaningful, consistent shifts through the contracted period.
