Vail Health Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a high-impact journey as a Travel Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, where every procedure you support strengthens your expertise and advances patient outcomes. This OR-focused assignment invites you to bring precision, leadership, and compassion to perioperative care in a premier Colorado setting, with the opportunity to rotate to locations across the U.S. Beginning on 02/09/2026 for a multi-week assignment, you’ll be immersed in complex cases that challenge you to think quickly, communicate clearly, and coordinate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff. You’ll earn a competitive weekly pay ranging from $2,223 to $2,311, with guaranteed hours of 32 per week, delivering dependable income as you expand your clinical repertoire. Beyond the immediate impact at the bedside, you’ll grow through exposure to diverse technologies, instrumentation, and surgical specialties, all within a framework that values professional development, mentorship, and a culture of safety. And when you step outside the OR, Colorado’s beauty—from sparkling mountain vistas to vibrant alpine towns—serves as an inspiring backdrop that enhances both your work and your wellbeing.
Vail’s exceptional facilities, renowned teams, and commitment to safe, efficient patient care create an environment where your perioperative skills can shine. You’ll work with seasoned professionals who emphasize best practices, sterile technique, and meticulous instrument counts while maintaining patient comfort and dignity. The location blends the adrenaline of high-caliber surgery with the serenity of mountain living, offering close access to outdoor recreation, resort amenities, and a thriving wellness scene. For those who crave variety, the program also provides the possibility of placements in other U.S. locations, enabling you to experience different hospital cultures, patient demographics, and operative approaches. Comprehensive housing assistance and relocation support help you settle quickly, so you can focus on delivering exceptional care from day one.
As an OR RN, you’ll spearhead sterile processing, patient positioning, and instrument readiness; assist surgeons and anesthesia teams during a broad range of procedures; manage intraoperative documentation; and uphold rigorous safety and infection prevention protocols. You’ll coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to minimize delays, optimize room turnover, and ensure accurate counts and specimen labeling. Your leadership will help foster a cohesive surgical team, and you’ll have clear pathways to advanced practice opportunities within perioperative services, including specialty certifications and leadership roles as you demonstrate impact and reliability. The role also includes a clear path for contract extensions, enabling you to deepen your expertise and build lasting professional relationships. Perks include a signing bonus where applicable, housing assistance, and the chance to extend across multiple assignments, enriching your resume and your confidence. You’ll have access to 24/7 support from the travel program, dedicated credentialing assistance, and ongoing performance coaching designed to help you meet—and exceed—your career goals.
