- Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive Med Surg nursing care for adult patient populations, including initial assessment and ongoing monitoring of vital signs, neurologic status, and fluid/electrolyte balance; administer medications and manage IV therapies; perform wound care, drains, and basic post-procedural care; operate telemetry and monitor arrhythmias when applicable; implement care plans in collaboration with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff; participate in rapid response and escalation when patient conditions change; coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education; ensure infection control practices and safe patient handling; document precisely in electronic health records; support anesthesia recovery areas or general medical/surgical units as needed.
