Travel Physical Therapist Job
Silver City, NM
Contracted
Genesis - West Region - Silver City Care Center
Mid Level
Step into the role of Travel Physical Therapist in Silver City, New Mexico, and place your hands-on expertise at the center of healing that changes lives. As a Physical Therapist dedicated to restoring independence, you will guide adults through evidence-based rehabilitation, streamline pain management, and unlock mobility so patients can return to the activities they love. In this travel capacity, your clinical judgment, compassionate communication, and problem-solving prowess will shape recovery stories across diverse clinical presentations. Imagine empowering a patient after orthopedic surgery to take confident steps again, or helping a community-dwelling individual regain balance and strength to stay independent. Your impact will extend beyond the clinic as you collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support teams, delivering care that blends science with human connection. This opportunity is designed for clinicians who want to explore new settings, broaden their professional horizon, and still leave a lasting imprint on patients’ everyday lives. And as you consider this path, picture the remarkable landscapes of New Mexico—a state of sunlit courtyards, red sandstone horizons, and outdoor adventures that inspire renewal and resilience.
Silver City offers a gateway to both meaningful clinical work and a rich lifestyle. Nestled in the high desert with a backdrop of mountains, the town delivers a unique blend of outdoor recreation, southwestern culture, and a welcoming community. Here you’ll experience year-round opportunities to hike the Gila National Forest trails, soak in natural hot springs, and explore local galleries and plazas that celebrate the region’s history and artistry. The surrounding landscapes invite a healthy balance between focused professional time and restorative downtime, whether you’re exploring local eateries, refreshing with a mountain bike ride, or simply enjoying starlit skies after a rewarding day at the clinic. If you crave variety, you’ll also have the potential to work at other locations across the United States through future assignments, expanding your clinical perspective while maintaining the same commitment to quality patient care.
As a Physical Therapist on this assignment, you’ll assess, plan, and implement personalized treatment programs for a broad spectrum of patients, with emphasis on neuro-musculoskeletal rehab, gait training, functional mobility, and strength conditioning. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive evaluations, setting ambitious, achievable goals, and tailoring interventions to individual needs. You’ll utilize therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and restore functional independence. Documentation will be precise and timely, ensuring seamless communication with the clinical team and accurate tracking of progress. You’ll monitor progress, adjust plans based on objective outcomes, and educate patients and families to support continued improvement at home. Collaboration will be central—working with physicians, therapists, and aides to coordinate care plans, discharge planning, and community reintegration. There are opportunities to advance within the specialty through continued education, mentorship, and cross-site experiences that broaden your expertise in orthopedics, geriatrics, or rehabilitation pathways.
This position offers a competitive compensation package designed to recognize your expertise and commitment. You’ll earn between $2,317 and $2,380 per week, with guaranteed hours of 36.0 each week, providing stability as you pursue professional growth. The role includes a bonus structure tied to contract milestones and performance, reflecting your contributions to patient outcomes and team success. Housing assistance helps you settle in comfortably, removing initial logistical barriers so you can focus on what matters most—delivering exceptional care. In addition, there are extension opportunities that enable you to continue delivering impact beyond the initial assignment, allowing you to deepen patient relationships and expand your clinical repertoire. A dedicated support team is available 24/7 while you’re traveling with the company, ready to assist with scheduling, credentialing, clinical questions, or any travel-related needs so you can stay focused on patient care.
The organization backing this opportunity is built on values you’ll recognize in your day-to-day work: empowering staff to grow, recognizing and leveraging your unique strengths, and cultivating a collaborative, supportive environment. Career advancement is not merely a promise but a lived reality here, with pathways to advanced practice, leadership, and specialized certifications that align with your professional interests. Expect mentoring from seasoned clinicians, access to continuing education resources, and a culture that prioritizes clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and well-being for both patients and staff. The company recognizes that dynamic healthcare requires flexible, resilient teams, and it commits to investing in people who care deeply about making a difference.
If you’re ready to embark on a journey that merges clinical excellence with personal adventure, this position offers an exciting opportunity to join a company that values your contribution and supports your professional development. You’ll gain diverse clinical experiences, build lasting patient relationships, and contribute to a supportive network that fosters ongoing learning and growth.
