Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Cumming, GA
Contracted
Northside Hospital - Forsyth
Mid Level
Embark on a purpose‑driven journey as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, stationed in the welcoming community of Cumming, Georgia, with an exciting start date of 01/19/2026. This role offers you the opportunity to support mothers and babies through one of life’s most meaningful moments while you explore a region known for its southern hospitality, vibrant outdoor spaces, and diverse neighborhoods. Georgia’s beauty unfolds in mountains and waterways, in historic towns and modern cities alike—whether you discover the cool shade of the Blue Ridge foothills, stroll along Lake Lanier, or enjoy a weekend getaway to the historic charm of Savannah. Wherever you roam, you’ll carry the trust of families and the momentum of a thriving maternity team.

In this assignment, you’ll primarily practice in Cumming, a family‑friendly hub just north of Atlanta, offering easy access to cultural events, parks, and top‑rated schools. The local area provides a balanced lifestyle where outdoor recreation meets professional growth. And because this is a travel role, you’ll also have the chance to work in other states and facilities across the U.S., expanding your clinical repertoire and building a nationwide network. Expect competitive compensation aligned with your expertise, generous housing support, and the flexibility to extend assignments where you want to deepen your experience. The combination of steady 36‑hour weeks and guaranteed hours ensures predictable income as you plan travel, rest, and continued education.

Core responsibilities include managing labor and delivery care from admission through postpartum transition, with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and family education. You’ll monitor fetal well‑being, manage labor progress, administer medications and analgesia, assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, perform postpartum and newborn assessments, initiate lactation support, and ensure meticulous documentation in alignment with OB/GYN and hospital protocols. In this role there is ample opportunity for professional growth within the L&D specialty—pursue advanced certifications, mentor junior staff, participate in high‑risk obstetric cases, and develop leadership skills that position you for unit‑based roles or traveling leadership assignments. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a sign‑on or performance bonus, housing assistance to reduce relocation friction, and the option to extend your contract for continued impact in the same or new settings. You’ll be supported by a robust network of colleagues and resources, with 24/7 assistance from the traveling team to address scheduling, housing, credentialing, and on‑site needs. You’ll also benefit from ongoing education, access to state‑of‑the‑art equipment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver family‑centered care.

Our partner organization is built on empowerment, respect, and career advancement. They invest in nurses who show initiative, curiosity, and compassion, providing structured pathways for skill expansion, leadership exposure, and cross‑facility mobility. You’ll join a community that prioritizes your well‑being, transparent communication, and a supportive environment where your voice helps shape practices and policies across clinical sites. The company is committed to creating an environment where you can thrive, feel valued, and grow into the next phase of your nursing career while maintaining balance in your personal life.
