In this PACU RN role, you’ll lead and support high-stakes recovery care for patients emerging from anesthesia. Core responsibilities include continuous assessment of airway, breathing, circulation, and consciousness; vigilant monitoring of vitals and pain scores; timely management of post-anesthesia complications; aggressive but compassionate pain control and antiemetic strategies; early mobilization and prevention of complications; accurate documentation and handoff communication to postoperative teams; and proactive planning for safe discharge or transfer. You’ll partner closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, recovery staff, and case managers to ensure safe, efficient recoveries and to identify opportunities for improvement in protocols and throughput. This position is designed for growth within the PACU specialty, with pathways for enhanced patient care skills, leadership opportunities, and exposure to anesthesia- and perioperative-driven care models.
