Mid Level
Seize the opportunity to elevate your impact as a Special Education Teacher in Washington State, with a meaningful assignment in the welcoming community of Federal Way. This role invites dedicated educators to design and deliver inclusive, equity-centered learning experiences for students with diverse learning profiles. You will partner with families, therapists, and school teams to implement individualized supports, monitor progress, and celebrate each child’s growth. If you’re ready to translate passion into measurable outcomes starting on 01/19/2026 for several weeks, this position offers a path to deepen your practice, broaden your impact, and enrich your professional journey. And while you work to empower students, you’ll also have the chance to experience the stunning beauty of Washington—from the sparkling waters of Puget Sound to the foothills of Mount Rainier, the old-growth forests of the Olympic Peninsula, and the vibrant urban scenes of the region. Picture evenings spent exploring local parks, waterfront trails, and farm-to-table eateries, all while you contribute to a community that values education as a shared priority and a catalyst for lasting change.

Location Benefits: Federal Way sits in the heart of the Puget Sound region, offering accessibility, safety, and a family-friendly atmosphere while keeping you close to the amenities and opportunities of greater Seattle. You’ll enjoy a balanced lifestyle that blends outdoor recreation, cultural exploration, and professional collaboration. The district partners with you to create a supportive milieu where teachers can thrive, innovate, and refine their craft. If you’re drawn to the possibility of working in other locations across the U.S. through our program, you’ll discover diverse school communities, switch-up environments, and the chance to broaden your perspective while maintaining a consistent commitment to student-centered practice. Whether you prefer suburban neighborhoods with strong community ties or urban districts with rapid collaboration, this opportunity can flex to your professional goals while ensuring you feel connected, supported, and valued.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As a Special Education Teacher in this assignment, you will lead the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with a range of disabilities, including learning, cognitive, and communication needs. Your responsibilities will include creating adaptive lesson plans, delivering differentiated instruction, implementing evidence-based strategies, collecting data to monitor progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to align services, behavior support plans, and transition planning. You will facilitate inclusive classroom environments, promote student engagement, and maintain open communication with families to celebrate progress and address challenges. The role offers opportunities for professional growth within the specialty through ongoing training, mentoring, and access to teaching resources that support best practices in special education. In recognition of the expertise you bring, the package includes a competitive compensation structure with a weekly pay range of $2,253 to $2,375. A sign-on style bonus may be available and is determined during the hiring process, along with housing assistance to ease relocation or accommodation needs. Extension opportunities are built into the program, allowing for continuing assignments beyond the initial period if both parties choose to renew. A cornerstone of the experience is comprehensive support from our team, including 24/7 assistance while you travel or transition between assignments, dedicated program coordinators for onboarding, and on-demand resources to help you respond rapidly to student needs. You will be part of a community that values reflective practice, collaborative problem-solving, and a shared commitment to educational equity, with clear pathways for career advancement and leadership opportunities as you demonstrate impact and fidelity to your methodologies.
