Vail, CO
Contracted
Vail Health Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, where your clinical expertise and compassionate care become the heartbeat of families welcoming new life. In Vail, Colorado, you’ll join a team that balances precision and warmth, delivering top-tier obstetric nursing in a setting famous for breathtaking mountain beauty. Picture yourself guiding labor, interpreting fetal well-being, supporting doulas and physicians, and providing postpartum care with the same steadiness you bring to every shift. As a travel professional, you’ll also have the exciting opportunity to work across diverse U.S. locations, partnering with a nationwide network that values your skill, protects your wellbeing, and broadens your professional horizon. The chance to shape outcomes in dynamic environments—while savoring the incomparable scenery of Colorado’s high country and exploring new communities in other states—awaits you.

Colorado’s mountains welcome you not only with spectacular vistas but with a strong sense of community, outdoor recreation, and a high standard of care. In Vail you’ll enjoy access to world-class winter sports, summer hiking and biking, and a downtown that blends quaint charm with modern amenities. The location offers a supportive living environment where you can balance impactful clinical work with the restorative beauty of the Rocky Mountains. For nurses who crave variety, the program also provides opportunities to serve in additional U.S. locations, delivering rich experiences, broad clinical exposure, and the chance to build an expansive professional network. You’ll find a supportive infrastructure that respects your time and expertise, with housing assistance and flexible placement options designed to help you settle quickly and focus on clinical excellence from day one.

As a Labor and Delivery nurse on this assignment, you’ll own a comprehensive set of responsibilities that reflect both autonomy and collaboration. You’ll monitor labor progress, perform patient assessments, manage intrapartum care, and respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies with clinical judgment and composure. You’ll support laboring patients through pain management options, continuous fetal monitoring, and timely interventions as guided by obstetric teams. You’ll assist with deliveries, including normal vaginal births and cesarean sections when indicated, and you’ll provide skilled postpartum care, lactation support, newborn assessment, and parent education. The role emphasizes teamwork with obstetricians, midwives, nursery staff, and ancillary teams to ensure safety, comfort, and positive birth experiences. For professional growth, you’ll have access to ongoing training, mentorship, and avenues to expand clinical competencies within obstetric care, neonatal transition, and high-acuity maternal care. The travel model includes a generous guaranteed minimum of 24 hours per week, a clear start date of 04/05/2026, and duration measured in weeks with the potential for contract extensions based on mutual fit and facility needs.

This opportunity is built to be rewarding on multiple fronts. Competitive compensation includes a weekly pay range of $2,763 to $2,913, reflecting your skill, experience, and the critical nature of the care you provide. In addition to competitive wages, the role offers housing assistance to ease relocation and accommodation logistics, enabling you to focus on clinical excellence and patient-centered care. There are extension opportunities that let you deepen relationships with supportive teams and broaden your obstetric practice across different settings. You will benefit from robust, 24/7 company support as you travel, including access to a dedicated team whenever you need guidance, resources, or scheduling coordination. This unwavering support system is designed to protect your wellbeing and ensure you feel empowered to deliver your best work, wherever your assignments take you.

The company’s values center on empowering staff, advancing careers, and nurturing a respectful, collaborative work environment. You’ll be trusted to apply your expertise while continuing to grow through structured development opportunities, leadership mentorship, and exposure to a range of obstetric scenarios across diverse facilities. The emphasis is on professional advancement without compromising personal well-being or work-life balance. The organization understands that investing in you—through coaching, reliable scheduling, and comprehensive support—creates stronger teams, better patient outcomes, and a richer professional journey. You’ll be part of a culture that celebrates resilience, curiosity, and a patient-first mindset, with a clear pathway for career progression as you gain experience in labor, delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal support.
