Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Great Barrington, MA
Contracted
Fairview Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a meaningful journey as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, bringing your expertise to Great Barrington, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in guiding families through the most intimate moments of birth, collaborating with physicians, midwives, and the broader care team to ensure safe, compassionate, evidence-based care for mothers and newborns. Your impact will be tangible in every shift as you support labor progression, monitor fetal well-being, manage analgesia, assist with cesarean deliveries when needed, and provide thorough postpartum and lactation support. This opportunity invites you to grow within a specialty that blends high-stakes clinical skill with profound human connection, all within a community that values quality care and personal warmth. And for those who relish a region with rolling hills, vibrant culture, and easy access to both outdoor adventure and cultural amenities, Massachusetts offers a canvas where work-life balance and professional purpose harmonize beautifully.

Great Barrington sits in the western Massachusetts Berkshires, a picturesque town renowned for fall foliage, farms, farmers markets, and a welcoming, walkable downtown. Working here means you’ll be part of a tight-knit medical community that prioritizes patient-centered care while also enjoying access to outdoor recreation—hiking, skiing, or serene river walks in your downtime. The location also opens doors to travel across the United States, should you choose to explore other sites through our program, gaining exposure to diverse hospital systems, patient populations, and clinical challenges that sharpen your L&D skills. In this role you’ll have the chance to experience the best of New England living, with seasonal events, farm-to-table dining, and a culture that celebrates arts, music, and community—an ideal backdrop for healthcare professionals who believe in healing both inside and outside the hospital walls.

Role specifics and benefits: as an L&D RN, you will triage and monitor laboring patients, perform comprehensive nursing assessments, administer medications (including analgesia and labor-inducing agents as ordered), monitor fetal heart rates and uterine tone, assist with deliveries (vaginal and cesarean births) under physician guidance, and provide thorough postpartum and newborn care. You’ll perform newborn assessments, support lactation and parental education, and provide anticipatory guidance on newborn care, sleep, feeding, and safe transition home. Documentation in the electronic health record, adherence to sterile technique, and collaboration with obstetricians, midwives, nurse practitioners, anesthesiologists, and ancillary staff will be essential. The role offers pathways for professional growth within the L&D specialty, including opportunities to pursue certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and NRP, expand skills in high-risk obstetrics, and assume mentoring or peer-education responsibilities for new hires or student nurses. The compensation mirrors the value of your expertise: a competitive weekly pay range of $2,606-$2,724, with a sign-on bonus where applicable, and housing assistance to help you secure comfortable accommodations near your assignment. You’ll also have extension opportunities to continue in the same or additional L&D settings as you build a diverse portfolio of clinical experiences. A dedicated travel-support team is available 24/7 to assist with scheduling, credentialing, and clinical escalations, ensuring you have reliable backup and guidance wherever your assignment takes you. Start date for this opportunity is 03/02/2026, and assignments run in weeks, with the possibility of extension based on performance, staffing needs, and your own professional goals.

Company values and support: our organization is anchored in empowering staff to own their professional journey, offering transparent pathways for advancement and a supportive, inclusive work environment. You’ll find mentorship, constructive feedback, and accessible leadership committed to your growth. We believe in balancing rigorous clinical practice with compassionate patient care, investing in ongoing education, skill refinement, and leadership development so you can elevate your practice while maintaining well-being and work-life harmony. The culture emphasizes teamwork, open communication, and recognizing the critical role nurses play in shaping positive outcomes for families during one of life’s most meaningful experiences. Whether you’re seeking to deepen your obstetric expertise, broaden your scope with cross-disciplinary experiences, or prepare for future leadership roles, you’ll find meaningful opportunities to thrive here.
