Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Utica, NY
Contracted
MVHS Wynn Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a compelling opportunity as a Registered Nurse in the PCU, bringing your clinical expertise to Utica, New York, where every patient counts and your care can change outcomes. In this role, you’ll blend compassionate hands-on nursing with precise, high-acuity monitoring, guiding patients through recovery in a fast-paced PCU setting. Imagine the impact you can make as you collaborate with a dynamic team, triage complex needs, and empower patients and families with clear education. And as you embark on this journey, take a moment to savor New York’s diverse beauty: stroll along the Mohawk Valley, soak in the scenic Adirondack foothills, explore historic Utica neighborhoods, and enjoy the cultural vibrancy that the state offers—from festivals to dining to breathtaking outdoor adventures.
Utica offers a welcoming community with a reasonable cost of living, short commutes, and access to wonderful parks and local events. For nurses who crave variety, this role also opens the possibility to work in other locations across the United States through our travel program, broadening your clinical exposure and expanding your professional network. Whether you choose to stay in Utica for the entire assignment or rotate through diverse facilities nationwide, you’ll benefit from stable scheduling, predictable hours, and the excitement of new clinical environments while maintaining a strong support system back home with your travel team.
In this PCU nurse role, you’ll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for adult and geriatric populations with progressive care needs. You will monitor cardiac telemetry, manage invasive lines and IV therapies, administer medications, and recognize early signs of deterioration, escalating promptly as needed. You’ll participate in daily rounds, collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff, and lead patient and family education on discharge planning, symptom management, and medication safety. The position emphasizes professional growth: you’ll gain experience in complex hemodynamic monitoring, risk assessment, and evidence-based practices, with opportunities to advance toward critical care competencies, specialty certifications, and leadership pathways within our supportive network. The package is designed to be competitive and rewarding: a weekly pay range of $2,355 to $2,470, with guaranteed 36 hours per week and assignments issued in weeks increments. We also provide a generous bonus structure and comprehensive housing assistance to minimize your relocation stress. In addition, you’ll have extension opportunities that allow you to lengthen or adapt your assignment based on performance, unit needs, and your own career goals. Throughout your travel, you’ll receive 24/7 support from our dedicated clinical liaison and travel services team, ensuring you’re never alone when you’re on the road and on assignment.
Our company is committed to empowering healthcare professionals, prioritizing your career development, and fostering a supportive, inclusive work environment where you can grow. We invest in ongoing education, mentorship, and access to leadership opportunities, helping you build a lasting professional foundation while maintaining work-life balance through flexible scheduling and reliable back-end support.

Start date is 01/12/2026, with assignment durations measured in weeks, guaranteed 36 hours per week, and a weekly pay of $2,355-$2,470.
