Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within our dynamic travel program, where your expertise shapes patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings. As an experienced Respiratory Therapist with the Registered designation, you will assess respiratory status, tailor therapies for adults and children, manage ventilation strategies, interpret arterial blood gases, and lead airway clearance initiatives. Each shift offers the chance to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to stabilize patients, optimize oxygen delivery, and guide families through challenging moments with clarity and compassion. Your skillful interventions will translate into tangible improvements—better endurance, smoother weaning from ventilators, and safer recoveries—allowing you to make a meaningful difference in countless lives while growing your clinical repertoire. This program is designed for professionals who value variety, autonomy within a supportive network, and deliberate career progression. It’s an invitation to apply your expertise where it matters most, while embracing the opportunity to explore New York’s vibrant communities and landscapes as part of a fulfilling professional journey.
New York state offers a tapestry of beauty and adventure that complements your professional path. From the tranquil shores of Lake Champlain near Plattsburgh to the soaring scenery of the Adirondack Park, from charming river towns to thriving cultural hubs, you’ll find a region that nourishes both body and spirit. In every season, outdoors, arts, dining, and history intersect to create a uniquely rewarding backdrop for a meaningful career.
Position yourself in Plattsburgh, a welcoming city on the Lake Champlain corridor, where affordable living, access to outdoor recreation, and a tight-knit healthcare community amplify your sense of purpose. The assignment structure also offers the possibility to work across multiple locations in the U.S., broadening your clinical exposure and expanding your professional network. You’ll gain experience in tertiary centers, community hospitals, and rural facilities, while enjoying a supportive onboarding experience and a dedicated travel team to streamline logistics, credentialing, and scheduling. The environment emphasizes collaboration, quality care, and learning, ensuring you can adapt to varying patient populations and care protocols with confidence.
Core responsibilities include assessing respiratory status, initiating and adjusting therapies such as aerosolized bronchodilators and humidified oxygen, managing ventilator settings and weaning protocols, performing weaning trials, and performing airway clearance techniques. You will interpret and act on arterial blood gases, monitor gas exchange, monitor and troubleshoot alarms, and coordinate with nurses to prevent complications like ventilator-associated events. In addition to direct patient care, you’ll educate patients and families, document thoroughly in electronic health records, and participate in rounds and quality improvement initiatives. This role offers competitive compensation with a weekly range of 2,305 to 2,418 dollars, alongside a bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities designed to reward performance and reliability. While assignments are scheduled in weeks and may vary, there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, allowing you to tailor your workload to your preferences and goals. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a 24/7 traveling team, including clinical coaches, credentialing specialists, and on-call assistance to ensure you feel secure wherever you work. With ongoing access to continuing education, mentorship, and professional development pathways, you can pursue certifications, expand scope, and assume leadership roles within the network.
Our company champions empowering clinicians, fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture where career advancement is a core promise. We prioritize your growth, celebrate your achievements, and provide the resources, feedback, and mentorship you need to excel—whether you’re mastering a new therapy, teaching a colleague, or steering quality improvement projects.
